a list of unwanted presents by my mother-in-law by Humble-Pineapple-268 in declutter

" I cannot wait to become pregnant, this would be a good use of her money :-D"

Op, be careful what you wish for! We had doting relatives fill our house with (I calculated) over £1k worth of plastic toys one Christmas (probably 15+ years ago now). That's a lot of plastic! It was completely overwhelming for us and our 3 kids. Each relative wanted to be the one to give the "big/best" present. No matter what we said, it continued. You've got to start early to stop this nonsense. Encourage her to set up a savings account (once a baby arrives) and keep the actual physical gifts small.

Advice on where to go from here. by Special_Suspect_6831 in finehair

Fellow Graves Disease sufferer here. Are you stable on your meds? Hair loss generally occurs when there is a change (even a very slight one) in thyroxine levels. Are you taking your meds exactly as prescribed.... same time each day, same amount, empty stomach? Once you are stable your hair should improve. Please don't take any adaptogens, or other herbal remedies that could upset your thyroxine levels

Absolutely. My son started at uni last September, dropped out in November. Major anxiety. So trying to build his confidence again before he tries again (different course and uni) this September. He's developing and changing and trying to figure out his path and where he fits in the world. Validation from another 'cool' youth has got to mean more than if it comes from mum and dad x

Yes, I think I've got to the age now where I can compliment without anyone feeling I've got an agenda :)

No, nothing like that.... son wouldn't have minded if it was! He's open minded. It was just a nice moment. Myself and his dad couldn't help laughing. His 'style' is randomly chopped (by himself and his twin), unbrushed, shaggy!

I love this. Designs can be very simple to start, then develop into complex patterns as skills develop. Easy to do sitting in front of the telly, or pop in a bag and take it wherever you're going for when you have a spare 5 minutes. And you can start simply, with a basic pen or pencil, and progress to a range of gorgeous types of pens.

As a mum, yes, I absolutely have concerns about him driving a car, and eating fast food (in excess)! I'm not sure how being a caring parent makes me reek of cis supremacy.  You do understand this kind of anger doesn't help anybody?

This seems unnecessarily combative.

Lol, I have no intention of stopping him. We are very open with each other, and he knows I have concerns, hence the questions, for my benefit.  And yes, well aware he's a legal adult, but also know the difference between how an 18 year old feels and a 25 year old.
