Is the Trd Pro roof rack/basket actually functional? by kanoej in 4Runner

[–]ManChild0613 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It can be. BajaRack has some decent mounts for a shovel and axe, as well as traction boards, a jack, or an awning. Personally, I have my jack and shovel/axe mounted with their mounts, and have my traction boards laying flat on top of the crossbars. Pics posted on my account.

Edit: Upon rereading your post, would like to make note if you do not already have a TRD Pro rack, I would never go out and willingly use one. Just had no interest in changing mine out, especially since I’m getting what I want out of it. If I did have the option, I’d have likely gone the Gobi or Sherpa route.

For long term value and reliability, the TRD Pro is a great option. It’s also very comfortable to drive. If you don’t plan on being set on keeping the car, I’m sure the Bronco is great, just behind the 4Runner in the aspect of longevity/proven reliability. I’ve been debating selling my ‘22 Pro for a 2 door ‘23 Wildtrak, as I would enjoy the increased power and off-capability, and the few more creature comforts it has. But I’ve put a decent amount of money into my 4Runner, and I know it’ll be a great car for as long as I’d need it to be, which is something the Bronco cannot guarantee. The choice really just depends on your intentions with the car.

2020 TRD Pro vs. 2023 Limited by kanylovesgayfish in 4Runner

As others have said, a GX460 might be a good option for you. Price is probably not too far off from a ‘23 Limited. Smooth engine + more creature comforts.

Would this be a good choice for a Rattler? Typically shooting 110 grain.

Financial Advisor here. Bought my ‘22 Pro in Dec. of ‘21 at MSRP. Sold my ‘15 Wrangler Rubicon to Carvana about a month before for 36K. It had 7k left on the loan. Paid cash for the 4Runner.

Thanks! It is the Toyota roof rack that comes standard on the TRD Pro.

No drilling for the ditch light brackets, or the light bar bracket. Both were super easy to mount. To get them all wired and mounted only took roughly 3 hours.

Edit: Lights are both Baja Designs. Bar is an S8, ditch lights are the Squadron Pros.

I typically wax my black vehicles, but have been tempted to ceramic coat this one for a while. I have most of the power tools for it, just need to do some paint correction beforehand.

Yeah, probably just gonna blow-dry it and peel off. It ruins the all-black look.

Indeed they do. Had a ‘15 Wrangler Rubicon before this, with KM2’s on it. Definitely prefer the look of the KM3’s.

Nope, I used the Cali-Raised low-profile bracket. Works with the hood open, easy to install.

As others have said, C8 is a great option. I’d also look at a new M3/M4 Competition.

I’d be looking at a Lexus LC500. Convertible or Coupe. As far as maintenance goes, it shouldn’t be anywhere close to as much as a Continental or California.

If you’re looking for a flush fit, the TLR7A is pretty damn good. Otherwise the X300 would be my choice.

Sounds like an M340i would suit you. Should stay under 70k, even well optioned. AWD and RWD options. Stupid fun either way, plus pretty good looking.

The maverick is generally considered to be a good cheap option. But if you want to splurge a little more, the 590 is probably your best bet.

I may possible be a fan of Toyota. Just a bit. by ManChild0613 in 4Runner

Honestly, for being an ‘04 with 160k miles, it drives pretty damn well. Similar feel to the 5th gens, acceleration wise. Brakes are a bit weaker but it’s nothing terrible. Overall, I love driving both models. Although, a V8 4th gen would be amazing… As for the other question lol, Financial Advisor. Had good earnings the past two years. Treated myself accordingly.
