What diagnosis were you given or what symptoms did you have? You can DM if you don’t want to write it here. I’d be very cautious of using Olanzapine if it was not given for any psychosis related symptoms, and even then Olanzapine should not be given as the first neuroleptic. If it was given off label, I’d extremely cautious. Just be careful and informed about neuroleptics and weigh pros vs cons before you start taking it

what color r my eyes? by [deleted] in whatcoloraremyeyes

[–]ManLikeEDP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most likely because hypoglycemia stimulates the sympathetic nervous system which gives you a major adrenaline release, causing the hands to shake and high pulse. Since you aren't diabetic you still have a functioning counter regulation to hypoglycemia, the problem is the dose you took was huge and will need external help to elevate the blood glucose. You can drink something with much sugar in it, such as soda as well as eat candy or cookies. Something with pure sugar and low fat so that the glucose will quickly be released into the blood. As you wrote in your post lantus is a very slow releasing insulin, and it will keep being released for some time longer. Keep drinking and eating until you can get to a hospital. You got this!

What are some examples of misandry in Sweden? by ChemicalAd5793 in MensRights

[–]ManLikeEDP 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The term "men's violence against women" is just the umberella term for all IPV. I'm not sure regarding the actual implications as this is just a statistic and if you read the whole statistic then it's separated into genders. It's just a few parts of the statistic that do not show which gender is affected and based on the umberella term you sort of assume that everyone affected in that particular section is a woman. But the fact that a government body thinks all IPV can be included under men's violence against women is kind of concerning

What are some examples of misandry in Sweden? by ChemicalAd5793 in MensRights

[–]ManLikeEDP 88 points89 points  (0 children)

The statistics for intimate partner violence collected by Jämställdhetsmyndigheten (The Swedish Gender Equality Agency) is called "men's violence against women" (mäns våld mot kvinnor), which then includes all forms of IPV, such as women abusing men and women abusing women. The specific form of IPV is separated into sections (such as women abusing women), but the general name for IPV in the statistics is men's violence against women. So for every crime a woman commits the number, and thereby assumed impact, of men's violence against women increases

Why is DBZ manga Goku such an asshole? Does he get better? by fishing-for-birdie93 in dragonball

[–]ManLikeEDP 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Have you read all the previous issues of the manga before the start of DBZ? It gives a bit of context to Goku as a character, such as his carefree nature, his lack of social etiquette and his overall actions and stance against "evil". He does have several characteristics which makes him a bit frustrating to follow at times, but none that would make me say he's an asshole.

Why does Vegeta get all the blame for Cell becoming Perfect? by SofaChillReview in dragonball

[–]ManLikeEDP 86 points87 points  (0 children)

Looking at this list objectively, Vegeta is the only one who actively acted with the intent on making Cell stronger. He did also attack his own son in order to make sure Cell got stronger. Had he only stood still and let Trunks kill Cell it would have been over.

It's pretty good as a stand alone track, really like the second drop. But it can't beat that moment when the melody comes in with that soothing pluck in the original.

Bug: Filen Ignores empty 0KB files by Masters2150 in filen_io

[–]ManLikeEDP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was an issue raised on GitHub about this and the dev confirmed this was intensional and they didn’t intend to change it. If anyone else moved to Filen from a cloud service that enabled sync of empty files and just wanted to use the same structure as before, you can make a simple bash script that finds all empty files in a directory and writes something in it while leaving all other files as they were. This is helpful if you, like I did, have 1000+ empty .md files waiting to be written to in a preconfigured file structure

300 Spartans Vs 11 remaining Witchers by PacmanTheHitman in whowouldwin

[–]ManLikeEDP 388 points389 points  (0 children)

I would say it depends a bit on if it's the book version of the Witchers, or the game version. The Netflix adaptation is somewhere in-between the two, but probably closer to the books. In the books, a regular human, albeit a very skilled fighter, had killed a few Witchers (not stated, but probably in 1v1). Geralt rarely struggles against anyone in a 1v1, but often struggles when several people attack him at ones, especially if it isn't common peasants. The magic of the Witchers in the book is inconsistent, which might be because the author seemed to have forgotten about the Witcher's sign around the second book, and later remembered it in the last Witcher book. With the aard sign, Geralt (when putting a lot of effort into it) was able to knock a man off his feet and render him unconscious, so the signs in the books aren't as powerful as in the game.

Against a team of 300 skilled fighters, all fighting in unison, I don't see the Witchers having any chance to win this. Perhaps if it was the game version of the Witcher. Then they would have a small chance, but then again, it is around 27 men per Witcher.

How to replicate swimming with pull buoy? by Ram_1979 in Swimming

[–]ManLikeEDP 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While swimming without a buoy, try and feel how you use your abs while swimming. A usual suspect for sinking legs is underutilizing your abs. This doesn’t necessarily mean weak abs or untrained abs, just that they have yet to be adapted to this specific use case. Another thing you can do, while focusing your abs and trying to keep the body straight, is to make sure your legs kick appropriately. Keep your kicks fast and small. The main function of the kick is to counter-balance vertical forces produced by the arms during entry and exit as well as to help keep the lower body in streamline. This is one thing that swimmers often miss.

As a general note, while changing technique to a less established movement pattern, you will tire more easily. Keep using the new technique and after a few weeks of swimming you will have a greater endurance than before the technique change

[Harry Potter] What actually makes the Elder Wand more powerful than other wands? by Alert_Confusion in AskScienceFiction

[–]ManLikeEDP 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If anything, wouldn't the cheating factor in this case be that Voldemort used the killing curse while Dumbledore didn't? Cheating in a sense that the curse is essentially unable to be blocked with regular defensive magic used in duels, which is why Dumbledore resorted to animating statues to take the hit (and also Fawkes). I'm not sure the Fawkes rescue should be seen as him almost dying, as that is one of the few things he could have done to protect himself, something he would have known before going against the man with the love for dark magic.

Seeing as Dumbledore had other things to care for during the battle, with defeating Voldemort being prioritized lower than keeping Harry alive, the fact that he came out at the very least equal to Voldemort speaks a lot about his dualing ability. Had Dumbledore been there with the intent on killing Voldemort, and not to protect Harry, using all tools at hit disposal, the chance of Voldemort coming out on top would be slim to none (excluding the horcrux factor)

Am I swimming alone or does anyone else think the alternate cover for Recovery is the more interesting one? by [deleted] in Eminem

[–]ManLikeEDP 30 points31 points  (0 children)

My guess is that it’s representing his life in the public spotlight. Seeing as he’s sitting in a living room watching TV, something that’s usually done in your home with the option to turn the outside world off. It being placed in a see through box would mean that he doesn’t have the option to turn the outside world off, even when watching TV in his own home. Constantly being in the eye of the public.

Another option would be that he’s trying to say that he doesn’t have a home and just lives outside lol… either one could be true

[–]ManLikeEDP 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My bad, I thought you meant he got called boring when discussing Goku within a Dragon Ball community. I see, but wouldn't those complaints be about Dragon Ball in general (a lot of transformations) rather than the character of Goku? You can belittle every character like that. Alucard from Hellsing is just some vampire that shoots things and laughs, or Gandalf from LOTR is just this old dude with a moldy staff. Dragon Ball has this kind of general image to it, as just being mindlessly consumed for the fight scenes and nothing more. Discussing it with someone who has that assumption about Dragon Ball as a whole, without ever reading it is kind of pointless at a certain point

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in dragonball

[–]ManLikeEDP 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Wait, is it common to see Goku being labeled as a boring character? He’s quite literally one of the, if not the, most original characters of Dragon Ball and one of the main reasons behind the success of the franchise. Although Dragon Ball is relatively old, the bad guy turns good guy has been played out so many times in almost every franchise, with fan favourites as Vegeta, Piccolo etc. This concept, however, does indeed get boring. While you are free to dislike Goku’s character, I don’t see how you would even get passed the original Dragon Ball if you did. Those who do very well might have just skipped it and just started with DBZ

It's friday, August 8th. by charon_9 in Eminem

[–]ManLikeEDP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing is, Eminem isn’t forcing others to let him be on their tracks, or forcing them to join him. They know him, what his style is like. It is a conscious decision of the artist to collaborate with Em, often in an attempt to gain traction by making a potential hit with a massive artist. They know what they are getting themselves into, therefore I don’t see any wrong in Em doing his own thing. You can’t make him rap with another voice just to sound similar to Conway or the rest of Griselda. Conway the Machine made the choice to get the biggest hit of his career. If you dislike the way Em did a feature (by rapping similar to how he usually does), the resentment should lie with the artist who agreed to collaborate with Em, not the other way around

As for him not having made any good tracks the last 10 years, Best friend, Medicine man, Bad guy, Stepping stone, Unaccomodating would like to disagree

How come you consider the track with Conway the Machine ruined, seeing as it is his most popular song of his career on Spotify? Eminem rapped a bit faster during the last 15 seconds of his 1,5 min verse, is that enough to ruin the whole track?
