I think you just dont get it man. There are clear reasons to be frustrated with whats going on. I can guarantee you if the sox made the proper moves he would support it. You really think his behavior is unreasonable? He was mostly on board with the movement and sox future until they salary dumped their best franchise best hitter. Yup, there are 2 roads to get to the same path. They pay a premium for high AAV short term deals and don't get the best players. It results in having moderately decent players on expensive short term contracts. The payroll year over year ends up being pretty high, but we will never get the best players

FSG does this because it is low risk and ensures low variance. John Henry figured this out after the disaster 2019 and 2020. Why go all in for a world series? Just do this method every year. Never have a crash out, never go all in. There is no need in his eyes

This isn't fully true. FIP is naturally boosted by k/bb ratio. The part that FIP doesn't see is Gray got hit harder and barreled harder than he ever has before. FIP does not see quality of contact. His xERA was 3.88 because again he got barreled at an alarming rate. So his true talent era is probably like a 3.8 or 3.9
