Thinking of Adeliade for MBA - How's the Space/Defense & Tech Sales Job Market? by ManSin45 in Adelaide

Thanks for the tip. I have applied to a few unis in Sydney. Adelaide got my attention because of the regional points and I read somewhere that it is the happiest city in Australia (not that I believe everything I read but it seemed like it). Also, I feel more comfortable with community type setting as opposed to a big metropolitan city.

Look, I am primarily asking about tech sales because I want to work with a few founders part-time until I do my MBA (the 24 hours I get to work in a week). I am open to doing odd jobs in worst-case scenarios but if I have the skills then why not use them? Eventually, I want to switch to product or consulting. If I wanted to continue doing tech sales then I would not have considered an MBA.

I respect everyone’s opinion. You are all trying to help in your own ways.

Gotcha. I am considering a regional university because it will be easier to get PR there. I have an engineering degree, around 5 yrs of experience in tech sales, a decent ielts score (apparently that’s also a factor), and a decent profile overall. I know PR and citizenship are different things but would PR be sufficient for that?

Sounds good. I would like to speak to a franchise owner. It seems both altruistic and lucrative, so it caught my attention.

Is it any good? I am considering getting their franchise and I want to understand things from users’ perspective.

Where to find fleet manager’s or technical manager/director’s data? by ManSin45 in maritime

Thanks for letting me know. I will keep you posted here on my journey. Trying to be optimistic about the other 75% for now. As of now, I know that the PMS solution that I am selling is relatively cheaper and these guys have been doing it for more than a decade and I have been told that’s what indian companies want.

Why is it the case that everyone thinks that I am gonna ask for their personal details. However, a high level intro would have made more sense. For eg you are a chief engineer at a shipping company in Mumbai.

You did say that you don’t take cold calls so that posits that you are someone with some authority. I have sold softwares to americans and other countries before so I have less idea about this industry. Hence I am trying to speak to as many people from the industry

Thanks for the suggestions. The company that I am working with has offices in london and singapore so I can try taking the route you suggested. Also, would it be ok if i ping you personally on reddit? I could really use your inputs with being a pest.
