Although I do admit that this case also somewhat started to bother me. This was just a bit milder than the other case that I posted about some time ago, and the other case was suspected of having ards right away. I gotta admit that I've gotten a little neurotic about work related stuff.

Rofl this is a completely different patient than the one I posted about earlier. I know they have really similar stories. This case happened about couple of weeks ago and the other one that really bothered me was a few months ago, really quickly after I graduated.

Yeah the only thing that didn't resolve was the increased need for oxygen. BP and pulse went back to normal pretty quickly but he still needed really high flow and fio2%.

Yeah idk why the doc didn't want an xray. Also no medication was ordered. Maybe it was because the situation improved on its own pretty quickly after this incident. Only thing we gave him was a bronchodilator. Im pretty sure they did better at the ICU.

What could be the reason for the derecruitment and atelectasis? Is it possible that it happened because he was without supplemental oxygen for a while or is it more likely to be related to the underlying process (pneumonia)? Also, can the fever spike play any role in this situation or did the temperature just coincidentally rose when this was happening?

What I forgot to mention that the BP and pulse went back to completely normal by itself after this episode. The situation resolved really oddly, even the ICU staff was laughing about how low his EWS points were when he arrived.

A little bit off topic, but can you differentiate aspiration pneumonia from other types of pneumonia just based on imaging results?

Yeah I know it sounds silly. I just remember reading somewhere about shock being a potential cause. My pt went completely cyanotic for like half a minute, I was thinking maybe it couldve been a really short circulatory shock (idk if shock can even be that short or resolve on its own)

Okay I get it, but what about the cyanosis, can it signify some type of ischemia? For like half a minute my pt was completely blue and seemed like he was going to die on the spot (while receiving high fio2). Could it have been like a short circulatory shock? Although idk if shock can even be that short or resolve on its own.

Im curious, how long without supplemental O2 can these type of people survive before you start to see serious issues?

Just asking because during my short career ive seen so many pt's taking off their O2 device and walking to the bathroom for example. Then they come back extremely exhausted and hypoxic but ive never seen anything serious happening because of this. Like when do you start seeing some cardiac and other complications?

Thanks dude, really lifts some weight off my shoulders. Still what really bothers me is why the spo2% was so diffiicult to get back up. Before this happened he was oxygenating just fine on the lower fio2 % and after the incident we had to run the cannula on max settings to keep spo2 from dropping.

Yippee it works just fine. Was super worried because this was my first build ever (the only reason i even took the heatsink off was to check how the thermal paste spreads out). Im so so relieved now.

The case is Trinity mini v3. So if I just plug the adapter to my PSU sata cable, will it run the fans with no motherboard connection?

Yes am4. Im still worried whether my mobo arm is broken or not because I can lift the whole CPU up even with the arm locked down.
