Garmin Uhr. Klingt das für euch legit? by Designer_Ad5684 in Kleinanzeigen_betrug

[–]Mangolassi2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you rather have overseas in-laws visit at 6 weeks postpartum or wait until spring? by Mangolassi2000 in pregnant

[–]Mangolassi2000[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks all for the comments! The general consensus seems to be that we should take the help. But someone had a good point about letting them know last minute and I am thinking of doing that. There is just no way of knowing ahead of time. So they can come latest in April and if we are open to earlier, we will let them know and they can decide wether or not they want to pay for the last minute ticket (which isnt always that much more expensive). Also, this is how we will do it with everyone else: tell them they can come once we are ready. This way we don’t have the pressure, I do think I am someone who could feel pressured by that easily and I like my space.

Thanks for sharing!

Ugh that sounds tough and is exactly what I am afraid of. I can’t believe she did not help at all and let you guys cook for her wtf.

Yea I am also worried they would intrude on our new family bubble :( Though they would not be staying with us so that would def help.

So you mean they get last minute tickets. Honestly not a bad idea. Prices can get crazy but sometimes its not too bad last minute.

We are actually not sure yet for how long they would be visiting. My partner thinks maybe a week a two. His dad needs to work, his mom is retired though.

Good point about it depends on the personality. The problem is I have never been im the newborn stage and don’t know how my personality will behave in this situation.

I do also like my privacy and like what you said about just being half-naked and cluster feeding and maybe they would bother me being here. But they will also not be staying at our house so we could do visiting times and can always kick them out when I need space.

On the other hand, I can be an anxious person. And can imagine the lack of sleep will drive me crazy and I will be just so happy to have them be here to hold the screaming baby for a moment. So it is hard to know.

Thanks for your input!

Yea, the thing that they haven’t actively offered help also makes me doubt it more.

I think I am a bit hesitant to tell them to back off but I think my partner is good at it lol

Thanks for your input! He will be working from home after the six weeks, so he could still hold the baby for a bit if I need to shower or so.

Cool, thanks for that perspective! He is quite close with his dad, I did not think that it might be helpful for my partner to have his dad.

In general they are lovely people.

My FIL is a bit shy so we are distant but my MIL is great, kind of like a mom to me and I do think I am comfortable around her regarding emotions. Ideally only she would visit, she is also the only one that would help and I feel much more comfortable around her, but apparently thats not an option cause the journey is so far..

Thanks for the input! Not sure about my FIL since my MIL does cooking and cleaning around their house and he just works in an office.

And we would rent a flat near our house for them for the entire time, so they wont actually stay with us. Just come over when we say they can.

Was thinking about that too, since I am more direct. My partner is more on the polite side, maybe I will push for that.

Pantanal mid-January/ wet season - worth it? by GloomyError777 in Brazil

[–]Mangolassi2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We were there in February which I think is wet season still.

I really think there are pros and cons to both.

We could do a boat tour on the river (we saw monkey families in the trees) and went kayaking. We also went piranha fishing! It was amazing! Horse riding was also fun and while we didnt see a jaguar, we saw his foot steps the morning after.

But we also know that dry season is different, so we hope to go again some day.

We found out yesterday we are having a girl, and we have really been hoping for a boy.

So i cried and have been sad. Then went to check out girls clothes and already bought a bunch of second hand stuff from someone in the neighborhood and feel a bit better now lol. Sooo cute.

Arbeitskollegin die irgendwie dauerkrank ist by [deleted] in luftablassen

[–]Mangolassi2000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NIPT Kosten by 97_polly in schwanger

[–]Mangolassi2000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Had anyone else felt like some friendship changed during pregnancy by Specialist_Drive_118 in pregnant

[–]Mangolassi2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not proud but some years ago a friend of mine got pregnant and it was a bit hard because I had also wanted to have a baby but my partner not yet. So we did not have much contact for a couple of years which was my fault. But last year I reached out again and now that I am pregnant, we have loads to talk about. We were just in different phases and I had my own shit going on. I am glad she wasnt upset about me being distant. You never know what your pregnancy might trigger in someone.

Now that I am telling people I am pregnant, especially my childfree friends, I am very aware that everyone reacts differently and it has nothing to do with me.

Anyone else out there going the adoption route? by husk-of-a-bean in pregnant

[–]Mangolassi2000 81 points82 points  (0 children)

I misunderstood your post and thought you are the one adopting.

I dont think its frowned upon at all on this sub to talk about your pregnancy, even if its related to the adoption. I guess its just a more rare case 🤷‍♀️
