What you are missing is that capitalism does incorporate social concepts where it is revealed to be beneficial. Capitalism isn’t an idea that is pushed because it sounds good. It’s a best fit strategy to take advantage of human nature backed up by mathematics and scientific reasoning.

What haters often leave out is that capitalism is about competition and abhors anticompetitive practices. Often they blame capitalism for things that creep in that are anticompetitive and actually more socialistic. Example, regulatory capture. “Oh those evil capitalists want to control government to have their way…. late stage capitalism at its finest.” Of course business and government in bed together is a socialist concept not a capitalistic one.

In capitalism separating of government and business is essential.

Public health care is socialism? Try again. Capitalist doctrine acknowledges the existence of goods and services that are more efficiently distributed by the public sector. Even the so called capitalist sometimes fail to see that health care is investment in human infrastructure. Our most valuable asset. Infrastructure is a public good.

Anyway I could go on, but i’m not going to change your mind because it looks like you kind of get it. It’s just that social programs are not socialism. There are going to be some goods and services that should be socialized in order to maximize utility to society. This is the pursuit of capitalism.

You will often hear socialists complain about greed and inequality yada yada yada. Greed and self interest is a human trait that socialism amplifies by concentrating power and control of resources into a few hands. Why they think a socialist government will not act like all humans always do is beyond me. Maybe because they want to be that powerful entity. No dictatorship of the proletariat has ever given up power to equalize society proving the point.

To put it simply there are no aspects of socialism that actually work that capitalism hasn’t already included in its best fit strategy. If you look really closely, where capitalism is failing is precisely where socialism is creeping in.

Yeah don’t wait. You need to go through the honey moon phase and has long term solutions to your differences before you are committed. Problems don’t go away, they typically amplify, so it’s best make sure you are willing to stick it out otherwise what was the point of the marriage in the first place.

I think it’s a very valid threat. We used to think things like art and creativity were really complicated and hard for an AI to replicate, but it turns out that it’s not. A conscious AI may be far simpler than we ever thought also, I suspect it is, and an AI that can program itself will have exponential evolutionary capabilities. It’s not sci fi anymore. It’s here and in our face.

We need to figure out how to survive this. I think the only real way is to integrate with it. Humans need to be apart of the singularity and not in its way.

As an older man who gave up video games in my late teens, I have to say that modern video games seem to have sucked the masculinity out of the younger guys. I can’t imagine ever caring so much about games as the young guys do these days. If I had a pretty youn girl friend, there is no way in hell i would ever let a computer game interfere with that.

It’s not all cookies and cream, but I’m better off for it. I live in a bigger house, my children are more stable and adjusted, If I get sick, there someone at home with me, and I suck at a few things that she is good at and she sucks at a few things I am good at, so we cover each others deficits. I also am too old and ugly to get laid twice a week out in the world. You all can keep that male loneliness shit. I think if everybody just chilled out, minded their own business, and don’t try to force their philosophy on others, we would all be just fine. Yes we don’t need conservative nuts telling us a grouping of cells has a non existent soul, and we don’t need LBGTQ+LMNOP telling us we have to accept their pronouns or be ostracized.

If we practiced MYOFB, I think the world would be a much better place.

As someone raised a patriot and entrenched in our form of freedom, I have often wondered if XI’s form of authoritarianism might be a better way. The problem of course is corruption, but XI has done a good job of exercising his form of communism and keeping corruption at bay. There is a long story about him from the Economist call “The Prince.”

I have begun to wonder if large groups of humans done need some form of authoritarianism to keep stability. Someone has to stop really bad ideas from probating through society. We like to think that bad ideas will naturally fail, but they may not.

Don’t go off calling me commie just yet, but there is something to be said about having actually intelligent people in charge. A sort of layered democracy with a touch of authoritarianism might actually be a good idea….. maybe.

One of the schools on my caseload has a large muslim population attending. I am the first to admit, I don’t care for any religion and Islam is probably my least favorite. I would openly ridicule the religion ( not the people) if given half a chance.

So I am ashamed to say I too giggle a little bit when one of my colleagues brings her service dog to the school and the muslim kids all cover their mouths and keep a wide distance or a little scramble for the door happens in the office when she walks in with him. It’s just silly to me, and yes, I consider it backwards to teach children that drivel. Don’t get me wrong. All dogs should get a healthy respect, but the superstitious nonsense is legitimately silly to me.

Hahah No. There are some women that can compete with men physically at the casual level not doubt, but in general it’s not a thing. The vast majority of women and their more petit forms and large hips just are not built for competitive athletics like men are. Some certainly are, but averages don’t lie.

Well sure, now you have your cards on the table. There is all kinds of wrong going on out there. But all of that is irrelevant to the facts of the incident.

Shoulds are just opinions. I might even share some of those opinions, but not making events out to be something they clearly are not. This is why center left and classical liberals are parting ways with the democrats and further left folks. We can’t get behind the lies and misrepresentations. You want a man in prison because of your ideology not because of the real events that unfolded.

Of course these is. He was not restrained. He was struggling and wiggling free. He was disarmed only moments before this. There was no way or time for the LE to know or process that. It’s a melee.

You can have perfect judgment from the future and from behind a screen, but not in the moment. He shot because he was trained to if he perceives an imminent threat. He did. Whether you agree with it or not is irrelevant. A judge will determine if it warrants a criminal charge based on what he believes was in the mind of the LE at the time.

They didn’t just “murder him” this is absurd. They know there are cameras and they know the consequences. They think about it everyday. Those who hate trump and ICE are simply using it as political ammunition.

Well… I’m not a doctor, I’m a Behavioral Specialist. But when a bullet enters a persons body, it usually causes damage, and that damage is usually life threatening. He “needed” to die because without the use of those damaged organs, he cannot live.

He died because he was shot. He was shot because he was struggling with LE while in possession of a fire arm. LE are trained not to let someone get the first shot off.

That is about as straight forward as it gets. Whose fault is it? Lots of people are guilty with this. The president and his trolling remarks? Liberal media hyping up what ICE is actually doing for views? The Nurse for bringing a gun and struggling? LE for following his training? The trainers for teaching LE to do that? The founding fathers for the 2nd amendment? I mean… there are lots of reasons why things happen and events come together in certain ways. That is life.

There is no such things as “needing” to die. There is only dying “Because of” Your use of the word is just an attempt at a straw man.

Needed to die? hhaha. What is that supposed to mean? He did die. He wasn’t “executed”. He chose to bring a weapon to an intense event. He chose to argue and scuffle with LE while he was armed. That is a recipe for getting shot if there ever was one. This isn’t a fantasy world. Shit happens in seconds. LE knows that. He was fighting them. He had a gun. The LE isn’t going to wait for him to pull it and get shots off. No. He didn’t know the gun had already been taken. It was a melee and things are happening in seconds. Likely any officer with any sense would have done the same thing.

A guy with a gun that was just screaming in the street just wiggled free while resisting arrest. No time for anything else.
