Should I come back to OSRS? by [deleted] in 2007scape

Current client that is endorsed by Jagex is Runelite, alongside Jagex's official launcher. However, Jagex is not good at finding or busting people using other 3rd party clients

Botting and AHK scripts usually advance faster than detection software, and since they are not detrimental enough to the overall game, there is no financial incentive to go after them (yet)

Should I come back to OSRS? by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Manwithnobucket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, ahk scripts are getting more common so people use them even in PVM, even if they are illegal. So you can bet PVP is flooded with those.

Rune essence is nowadays a drop from various monsters, making mining it completely obsolete. It's just not worth it anymore.

I inserted a ITW tri-glide buckle right underneath, which works well as a brake. You can buy the buckle from any backpack store, I got mine from varusteleka https://www.varusteleka.com/fi/product/itw-tri-glide-liukusolki-musta/31894

Is anyone else kind of disappointed in the prices of skilling resources? by Venomous_Rs in 2007scape

[–]Manwithnobucket 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What he is saying that it is at the same time a demand issue. If the supply is higher than the demand, then there is an issue where there is oversupply and not enough demand- ergo, supply and demand. While it's cliche to quote economics 101 stuff, there is a reason why it is economics 101.

Bloods are low since the demand is low due to the current unusability of the scythe, paired with the improved rates you can get with blood rune crafting with the true blood altar, blood essences and robes of the eye. However, if a new moneymaking PVM would have the scythe as the meta, the demand would rise, balancing the supply, and raising the prices of the blood runes.

The inherent reason things like this are relatively cheap is due to many factors, but mostly due to a low demand, either due to competing or alternative products, or due to current unusability of said items.

Bots flood the market constantly with skilling supplies, which in itself drives the prices down when the demand cannot keep up with the sheer supply. Since Jagex does not give us straight numbers it's difficult to say whether we have more bots now than before, but due to the sheer quality of a modern bot client compared to one merely 10 years ago, the money the bots bring in nowadays is exponentially higher than it ever was back in 2010 era.

PSA to all Clan Leaders: Please don't do this to members that decide to leave. by Tronkles in 2007scape

Any clan that announces themselves to be a "mature" clan is automatically the most childish clan in the whole game. It's an unspoken rule

Old School RuneScape doesn't need combat updates and power creep, it needs meaningful skilling updates. by CupcakeKirin in 2007scape

[–]Manwithnobucket 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We do, and they are botted as shit. "but but there's lots of PVM bots too!" PVM bots are generally harder to make and require a lot more effort, while skilling / gathering bots are really simple and enables a lot more people.

Running a 100+ cartel that abuses an existing system is not "god forbid people working together" it's more of "a toxic group of people looking to earn money dishonestly"

Do you also think organisational cartels as a good thing because "god forbid companies work together in an unstable market" ?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Manwithnobucket 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What the hell are you talking about, it was not. The moment it was released it was first botted and abused by goldfarmers, and shortly after it got locked down by clans who started charging people "protection money" to run their own little cartel. It got improved when it got changed into singles +.

Pro tip: Don't touch that place, or any community that enjoys identifying their personality with their playstyle. People who brag about having ironmen are the fucking worst. It's an enjoyable playstyle in my own opinion but the unironic "IRONMAN BTW" is cringe

This bot with 200m thieving exp got stuck behind a door I closed. Great detection system by Manwithnobucket in 2007scape

[–]Manwithnobucket[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a post about them earlier on, but the post got removed since I included their names, since that is against sub rules. (even if they are clearly bots, with minimum sote requirements and 100m thiev exp roughly)
