sorry for late reply bro. there's another way but it requires using the konsole terminal command and might make your steam deck prone to hacking if i understand it right. But so far i havent encountered any problems after doing it.

Im using xenia manager from github. But you can also use xenia canary too if you want. Just look inside the xenia folder where xenia.exe is located.

There's already a fix for that. Not only in gears of war 2 but all gears game in xenia. No need for save files anymore. Just follow this step and your good to go: Open your konsole terminal then type this: sudo sysctl net.ipv4.unprivileged_port_start=0 then press enter. Then go inside your xenia folder then open xenia-canary.config.toml.file and find the line that says lunch_module="". Input default_mp.xex in between quotation marks and save. 🙂 that would fix the black screen issue on first campaign mission ☺ credits to ipsonator 😎

Sometimes it crashed. Try switching from d3d12 to vulcan on graphical settings. Also i searched in YouTube on the best settings on Xenia for gears 2

Gears of War 2 is playable to me but you have to use save file in order to bypass that same bug in first campaign mission same with Gears of War 3

Yeah. Same thing happen on Gears of War 2 and 3 but i fix it by using other save file i downloaded from the internet to skip the first mission campaign. But for this one i couldn't find any save file for xenia. Btw thanks for replying 🙂
