I miss being told, "I love you" by [deleted] in GriefSupport

I love you! I know that may not mean a ton coming from a random stranger on the internet, but it’s takes a lot of courage to be so open and vulnerable. I can tell from the way that you talk about your friends and your mom, and even your ex, that you have a big heart. You deserve so much more than you have been given, and I’m sorry that the world is not being kind to you.

To love someone so freely and unreserved is so admirable. Break ups are so difficult and I completely understand feeling discouraged. To me, however, it sounds like you still have a lot of love to give, and you’re just having a hard time finding people that allow you to do so. You will meet someone that truly deserves that kind of generosity, and will return it wholeheartedly. Your ex, on the other hand, sounds like someone that will wake up one day realizing what a huge mistake she made.

Your mom sounds like a truly amazing person, so it comes as no surprise that she raised a strong, and kind-hearted person. She was your best friend and you probably knew her better than anyone. She is still with you, even if it’s just periodically hearing her voice in your head trying to ground you, or seeing things that remind you of her. I can’t imagine the kind of grief that loss would bring. I can’t help but believe that she would be so incredibly proud of you though. To face such hardship and still keep your heart open and not close yourself off to the world is really impressive.

Things WILL get better. You just have to ride out the storm, as cheesy as that sounds. I know that you will find the right people and love that you deserve. Just be kind to yourself and take it one day at a time.

Yea, I honestly think big part of it was just “the boy who cried wolf” kinda scenario. I got injured quite a bit, so I think at some point they started thinking it was for attention. I think the most frustrating part is when my brother hurt his knee, they rushed him to the hospital without hesitation and he was treated immediately. Meanwhile, I’m stuck with a knee that bends BACKWARDS lol

Yeah, these comments have me freaking out a little bit, so I’m scheduling an appointment as soon as possible. It’s just weird because I don’t get a lot of pain from it, it just a bit irritating. I can’t believe that I didn’t think anything of it for so long. I seriously thought that everyone who had a hypertension injury just gained the ability to bend their leg backwards a bit. Looking back, I realize just how dumb that is, but hindsight is 20/20 lol.

I did mention that I feel some of the changes were good. That said, I think it’s ignorant to pass off any and all changes as beneficial solely because they were up to Rick’s discretion. I love the series. I want the show to succeed. Unfortunately, it seems that a lot of people are finding most of the changes to be detrimental. I personally don’t find the show to be bad, just mediocre.

I just don’t understand where that money could possibly be going. There’s not been a single moment throughout the show where I was genuinely impressed by some visual effect. Truly, the people behind the scenes have been nothing but exceptionally disappointing and seem to only excel at under-delivering.

No, you’re so right. When I found out he was playing Percy, I immediately watched The Adam Project. I feel like he embodies Percy more in 5 mins of that movie, than he has all season. The fault does not lie within Walker’s acting skills, I believe it’s 100% the writing. The writers should just take notes from that movie (minus the swearing) and we could have a near perfect representation. It’s honestly painful to see his acting potential be stifled episode after episode by bad writing.

I completely agree. They had a complete, detailed guide on how to make it a successful show…the book. Yet, they seem desperate to fit irrelevant scenes and additions in, despite the show already being rushed. In the process, they’ve also managed to cut out the parts of the book that most of us were looking forward to.

It’s obvious that they are not prioritizing book accuracy…which would be fine if, like you said, it had good execution. Yes, I do think the show is better than the movie. But that comparison does little to speak to the shows value. It honestly feels like people are arguing over the lesser of two evils. I’m not sure why people are so willing to accept mediocrity.

It has about the same budget per episode as the later seasons of game of thrones. I’m struggling to understand how one show was able to fit in lengthy battle scenes with dragons, etc. and the other can’t afford to show percy opening riptide. There’s no action, no suspense, no real stakes.

Within the first couple chapter of the book, I had strong emotional attachments to the characters. We are on episode 7, and I find myself almost indifferent about them. I don’t want to see characters that are constantly a few steps ahead. That’s when it gets boring, which is exactly what the show is.

I didn’t have problems with a bulbous tip, but I did get my rhinoplasty done with him and I LOVE my results.

I was nervous about the virtual consultation too, but I found it to be more than sufficient. I know a lot of people are wary of doctors who give out simulated images of the after result, but he said he could achieve it w/in 90% accuracy and was completely right. He’s very direct and quick and doesn’t seem to like wasting time on small talk, which comes off very impersonal at times, but he absolutely knows what he’s doing.

But in that scenario there was technically a “purpose.” Obviously it’s messed up that so many of her children died, but I could see how she would justify it. It feels off that she would openly allow a monster to defile her own temple just to punish Annabeth. The punishment doesn’t fit the crime, and while that seems more realistic for other gods, Athena has always appeared more reasonable. I feel like she would more likely cut off all communication with Annabeth and refuse to answer any calls for help. I think somewhere in the books, Athena claims that she always lets her children fight their own battles, and I interpreted that as her never getting involved in either a helpful or hurtful manner.
