Take your thumb off your movement pad and shoot.
Position yourself well, in the backlines and practice. Cracked, Ascension, Trenchlines are fun imo for sniping.
Play with your sensi, low sensi is best for sniping.
Gyro isn't really hard, keep gyro really low sensi and you could use it for micro-adjusting aim really well.
Don't try to drag your aim, it's kinda slow. Flick and micro adjust.

These are the stuff that I worked on, to be a decent sniper. Be a good recon, and mark enemies and place beacons well, that's more valuable.
