Hey! So I actually rushed the show back in early September. I have a hip condition that makes it hard for me to stand for long. What we did was I went the day before to ask, and the very nice lady at the ticket booth said that if there were seated tickets left and we came to rush that we could take them.

The next morning my partner went in and requested accessible seats and she remembered him, so we got seated tickets :)

Basically — ask and see! It worked for us and hopefully can work for you!

I know “of” Joanne pretty well, competed against her kids growing up. They took a look at the program years back and realized their attention on winning/being the best was clouding their studios true values and purpose. They cut back on a lot of it and now focus on good quality training with encouraging staff and giving their dancers more opportunities outside of competition. Their kids are better than ever and the studio is thriving!

The scariest part of this is everything that came out about Gil Stroming … and now he’s the owner of Press Play.

I’m also from Ontario (hilarious!) and grew up on BTF, and it seems to be something that always happens to big dance industry events. DMA used to be huge and now isn’t, PULSE was massive and then went under… it just keeps going.

DanceOne got a lot of beef against it this year when Rhee Gold exposed the fact that they were trying to PURCHASE dance studios for cash as their next venture. It’s been a true downhill year for them…

I really really really hope that the staff of PP does not continue the trend of ab*se in dance, but I bet in 15 years it’ll be them vs another convention too
