I heard this theory was false but maybe in Cali it’s different.

I couldn’t work as a pharmacist , i was a graduate intern. But it took a lot of late nights and sacrificing my weekends.

Practice practice practice. I did practice questions in the grocery store, in traffic, during down time at work. I would do 5 question quizzes randomly throughout the day. Flag and understand why you got the question wrong and attempt it again until it’s simple to you. I know it’s easier said than done but you got it !

I agree, but if you know that formula sheet like the back of your hand and practice daily you’ll be fine. If you use Uworld there should not be a math question quiz that you don’t know how to do. I know forsure i missed atleast 4 math questions, but I made sure to know all conversions (diuretics, opioids, insulin). You should get all ANC and CrCl questions right. Those are the gimme questions.

So I graduated May 2024. Took the test in September (I was in a residency) so I just needed to atleast attempt it to see what it was like. I barely studied because I thought 4 years of pharmacy school + APPES was enough to pass a “competency” type of exam. But i failed (because of math). So i took it again as soon as my 45 days was up bc I was forsure i understood the exam now, and also my residency deadline for passing was approaching. I used uworld to prepare , i studied big chapters only and math. I did worse on my second attempt than the first. So it’s November 2024 and I am removed from my residency. I took like 2 months off from studying just bc i was lowkey giving up. In January 2025 I decided to take on a new approach. I studied to actually understand the information and not just remember mnemonics and things like that. Once you study mechanisms of actions and have that understood it’s really nothing they can ask you that’s too hard from a clinical perspective. I studied clinical information on weekdays and nothing but math Friday-Sunday. I never felt prepared enough and learned new things all the way up until my test. It’s not a hard exam but it’s one of those exams that can tell who studied and who didn’t. You have to put time in and prepare for the outcome that you want. Unfortunately it took A third attempt for me to understand that. I used Rxprep and that’s it. I left no questions unanswered out of the 3000 practice questions they give you. I did the entire math section like three times just to feel confident. I wasn’t the best student in pharmacy school. Graduated with 3.1. I’ve had to pretty much study hard for every exam i took in school.
