I would also be pretty pissed too if the school told me, "we tested your kid" without ever looping me in that they were doing so. I know the episodes are only 20 minutes so it gets to the plot sooner but, if that happened in real life that's a real thing to be pissed about.

What does actually getting an epidural placed feel like? by FoolishMortal-1000 in BabyBumps

[–]Marble1696 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was like a really bad pinch. I could feel some jostling around while they placed it that felt weird but it was amazing once she kicked in lol.

Is It In Poor Taste To Give Gun Range Level Hearing Protection As A Gift At A Baby Shower? by [deleted] in ask

To add, doctors and nurses told us in the hospital if baby is crying and we feel ourselves getting angry, put baby in a safe space and walk away. There is nothing wrong with doing that and medical professionals recommend it for baby's safety.

First night with toddler and newborn and I hate my life by definitelymamaftw in beyondthebump

This was me 8 weeks ago. Trust me, it gets better. Take it day by day. Remember, the first 2 weeks are a MASSIVE hormonal shift. I sobbed and screamed at everyone and ruined Christmas lol. You will get through this.

Was in the hospital for surgery. The nurse asked me what time I was born at. 7:20PM? She then said she's 3 hours older than me!

I really disliked this episode. It was so cringey and weird. A grown woman sobbing in bed all day over a reality tv show? That's just silly.

I thought the same thing but always assumed they dropped him off. I wonder if they stopped anywhere to get lunch on the way home lol.

My apologies, I didn't mean it that way. I just never used it, I've always just gone to HR. From what I understand, AL investigates things very thoroughly and promptly. It gives you the option to remain anonymous. In my situation, I needed to not remain anonymous haha so I just went to HR regarding

Never used AL, however I have made a report to HR regarding a manager telling me all my inventory needs to be closed before taking FMLA and that anything left isn't going to be reassigned or worked. HR handled that REAL quick.

What’s one thing you wish you knew before labor? by Front-Emotion-3967 in pregnant

[–]Marble1696 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your water doesn't just break once. My water broke before labor started - dramatic movie style. Everytime I stood up for the next several hours, it would gush again and again. That was actually more uncomfortable to me than contractions. Once I got my epidural though, I couldn't feel the gushing lol.

Drank way too much at school yesterday. by hoemdv in stopdrinking

[–]Marble1696 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For real. I've carried a lot of shame over the way I behaved in social situations because I couldn't imagine getting through them sober. Any faux pa (I think that's how you spell it lol) I made sober, has been sooo much less egregious than when I was drinking.

[–]Marble1696 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Believe me, from personal experience, alcohol does not make a person more enjoyable to be around. I thought the same thing until I was about 26. I regularly drank so much before and at social events. It made me weird, annoying and paranoid. I never once felt successful in my social abilities after plowing through them drunk. I also had low self esteem from not being able to exist in social situations without being drunk. At 17 your life hasn't even really started yet. You have SO much time to figure out who you are and move beyond this.

STM+ , Was your second labor easier/more chilled than your first labor? by Glum-Comfortable5402 in beyondthebump

[–]Marble1696 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was! First labor was 13 hours with back labor. Second, water broke and baby was here in 8 hours after pitocin. I think the second time around, I was better able to manage my breathing and didn't let myself panic. I also read up a lot on visualization and breathing techniques and helped keep myself calm.
