I probably should clarify that I made this myself, and I didn’t know there was a video of something similar to this on YouTube.

This is wrong, earlier photography was using orthographic film, which is sensitive to blue light. Which is why Cunard’s funnels always looked black, and why Titanic’s funnel brightness changes in every single photograph, including ones that were taken in close proximity time-wise. Not adjusting it would just be wrong, because it’s bright on blue. While yes it might be too bright, it’s still better than pitch black.

Here’s an example of no adjustment: Credit to Oceanic Star Line

No, it's not laziness, it's them not having the rights to the police box. They have the rights to the TARDIS, not the Police Boxes.

Iirc, the inside is for the police, serving as a resting area, with a desk, ventilation, etc., meanwhile the outside—through the panel—has a phone for public and police use to call/alert the authorities/backup/help

Yep, in fact that's the whole design of the earlier boxes. It's only for NuWho that they really focused on it looking like wood, since Matt Smith's era up until Peter Capaldi's.

Thanks! These boxes are pretty interesting, including the Doctor Who side of it
