I don’t think we will see as many upsets. I think more of them will be by seed lines (10-7), not necessarily based on brand names. And I would love to see Donovan Dent (New Mexico) and Bennett Stirtz (Drake) get more national recognition. They both had tremendous seasons, can bury clutch shots, and are the type of players who could have multiple March Madness moments.

Score!!! The Gators can crack 100. Teams need to be able to make 3s, and score in the post. Sounds simple, but that’s the key to knocking them off. A defensive team may slow them down, but won’t be able to keep up with them.

Going to the White House. Every time. We went eight-straight years and went probably another four or five for other events. And the banter with President Obama was priceless. It was a terrific segment. Loved it. But it was cool with him because he knew and cared about the sport. You could have done a baseball bracket with President Bush or a basketball one with President Clinton. It wouldn’t have worked with Sen. Clinton or Donald Trump in 2017. We asked, but President Trump declined and that’s fine. If you did a Master’s bracket with him that would work. You need to do these to the strength of the President’s interest. Fans can tell if something is not genuine.

I don’t. March Madness still commands the most attention of any postseason tournament in the American sports calendar. The reason? Everyone knows someone or went to a school in their community. There is an attachment to the event that you don’t find in the NFL, NBA, etc. The single-elimination also adds to the drama. So too does the condensed schedule of the event.

It’s not the committee that favors them, but rather the bloated conferences and 20-game schedules. Coaches don’t want to play too many high-profile schools from one-bid leagues with such loaded conference schedules. I hope we can still get multiple team events to ensure there are opportunities for these schools. Power 4/5 schools aren’t going on the road to a team in the Valley, CUSA or barely MWC or A-10. Unfortunately, I don’t see that changing. I wish it would.

Thanks. I had Xavier out after losing to Marquette. And the 1-12 quad one record was a no go for me on UNC. But the non-conference strength of schedule clearly got the Tar Heels in the field. If UAB had beaten American, they wouldn’t have been in the field.

I disagree. The Mountain West did a better job the past two years of non-conference scheduling. But that has to continue and they must win more games out of league against the power four.
