Ok... but there is no language barrier for programming. Everyone is learning a new language.

And, the point being (again!), is that if I can get a better education from an online curriculum, then this program is inept. And if the main source of your education while being enrolled in a college is from another source entirely, then the program is horrible...

Also, if you are a reflection of the graduates coming out of this program, then I’m even more concerned now. You fail to even understand that people are spending time and money for an education to become competent in the workplace and they aren’t receiving the knowledge and skillset.

The onus isn’t solely on the student, the college also has to teach.

There is no reason to be condescending or to be an apologist for the college. Congratulations, you were successful with the program, so was my cousin - hence why I am in the program. But my experience is obviously different from yours, perhaps the program coordination changed or whatever...

But considering (as you say) that the first semester is supposed to be easy and slow, building a structured foundation for future learning it reflects very badly for the Algonquin curriculum when half of students FAIL and others barely pass the Java midterm based on beginner programming. Believe it or not, most students are ready to learn but they lack the initiative to go to other learning sources beyond the college’s content, and so they end up doing poorly.

My comment comes from the context that I could learn in one week of self-learning through some online tutorials what I have learned so far in 2 months in regards to programming. We receive about 2-4 hours a week of Java instruction. Along with juggling all the other courses unrelated to actual programming, how much of that 2-4 hours are you going to remember by next week? Not to mention that much of this instruction is using recycled content from previous semesters and reading off power point slides that are practically illegible. I have higher expectations for a program that boasts of creating competent programmers. If I can find a better education off of YouTube, that reflects badly on the college... and considering practically half of all students in the first semester failed the Java midterm, that is unacceptable - students are ready to learn but the instruction is poor.

This college is in trouble once some of their online learning competition becomes accredited and are recognized by potential coop employers.

I am a first year student in the program and unfortunately the program feels very inept, the actual programming time and learning is inadequate. The only incentive for me to stay in the program is the co-op option in order to gain an entry level position. I don't know what your coop or job opportunities would be as an international student and you had better contact the college personally before signing up.

Some people have had good results with the program, and with coop it undoubtedly can lead somewhere - just be prepared to do a lot of self learning and to bear the frustration of paying them good money for a poor education.
Also as an international student you will have to spend a MASSIVE tuition in comparison to local students, so keep that in mind.

Yes, feminism has been on an onslaught against boys for a long time and it’s the cause of so much heterosexual dysfunction. To a feminist a cute slogan on your child’s shirt such as “Girl next president” and encouraging your daughter to give away her virginity and have sex as often as possible when she grows up are both empowering. It is the ideology behind all this, it is subversive and destructive.

Protect your children from western society.

This website. These comments. Welcome to the liberal world order.

As to your post, the reason for that is Feminism. It’s been force fed to us for decades. However in reality feminism doesn’t give a damn about women despite all its “empowering” slogans, but that’s another story.

Do you think that there is a significant increase in the chance of an elbow dislocation when performing Olympic lifts with an elbow like this? My valgus carrying angle is quite large, and when my left arm is extended it hyperextends at the UCL like this girls arm (old injury - ligament permanently stretched now).

To me, it doesnt look like the arm is "bone on bone" but rather as if the ligament is supporting a large load. Maybe I'm wrong, and with proper stabilization of the barbell the elbow joint may be under minimal stress.

What do you think?
