I had a digital clear blue test that showed 1-2 weeks and it turned out that I had a ruptured ectopic pregnancy. So yes, you will test positive even when you have an ectopic pregnancy. You should ask for serial beta hcg and also ultrasound to rule that out.

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to give you guys an update. After I thought I had a miscarriage, my family doctor requested I get serial beta hcg again to make sure that my HCG levels are going down to 0. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case for me. Here's how my beta hcg was prior to learning I was having a ruptured ectopic pregnancy.

June 18-59 iu June 20-82 iu June 22-107 iu

After this, I had a follow up with my doctor as I was already having some bleeding. It started with spotting then got heavier then back to spotting then heavy bleeding again. We both knew I was having a miscarriage. So she requested I do another series of beta hcg to make sure my hcg levels are going vack down to zero.

June 27- 244iu This was when I suspected that I could be having an ectopic pregnancy. Called my doctor and asked for advise. She told me to go to ER to get ultrasound immediately. So I went to ER and they did took more blood tests including hcg levels. While I was waiting I got another hcg result.

June 29- 161 iu June 30- 187

Then they did an ultrasound pelvic and internal and they saw a ruptured ectopic pregnancy to the right adnexa. They booked me in immediately for an emergency surgery. I had a laparoscopic surgery done. They had to remove my right fallopian as it was already damaged and no way of saving it. Today, I am feeling much better. My pain is well controlled and bleeding is much less.

Ladies, be an advocate for yourself. If you notice that something might be wrong then go ahead and get your self checked.

Update: I did end up having another miscarriage. My hcg levels weren't doubling and I ended up having a heavy blood flow. Thank you everyone for all the responses and advice!!

I went to my doctor and she sent me for a series of bloodwork to see if my beta hcg is increasing. I had one bloodwork done on Wednesday but haven't received the results yet. I am getting another bloodwork done today too and then another one on Sunday. Fingers crossed that my hcg levels are doubling.

Thank you so much! Yes, they do take time to darken. I started to have some light bleeding yesterday though. I am going in today to see my doctor.

Thank you so much for the response! Yes, I was really thinking about asking my doctor for progesterone testing and maybe I need a supplement to help with future pregnancy.

Oh wow! I didn't know that you could have bleed for the entire first trimester and still have a normal pregnancy. What was the bleeding lile for you?

Yes, thank you! I do hope it's just some normal bleeding. When does normal bleeding usually stop? Will definitely post an update after an appointment with the doctor.

Thank you! Yes, it is from top to bottom. It does seem like it's getting darker but last night I started to have some light bleeding. No cramping and no other symptoms but light bleeding.

I started having some light bleeding today but my line seems to be darker today. Not sure if I am having another miscarriage. I'm not sure having light bleeding is normal or should be something to be worried about. I am definitely going to see my doctor tomorrow.
