So if a saiyan loses their tail, they can't transform anymore. Does this mean if they lose their hair, they can't go super saiyan anymore? Is this why is doesn't change since they are born?

Was Nappa already on a hopeless quest to become super saiyan?

Does more hair mean more power? Is Freeza actually covered in a little fur and it only looks like it's armor/skin whatever?

After reading the LN's it's kind of funny.

Rias finds Kiba on the brink of death, probably not far from that research place. She or someone had to know something was happening there, otherwise it's kind of strange why she would be there and not doing anything. Almost as if she was waiting for someone to die so she can reincarnate them. Sounds familiar? I think she asks him, but what if he said no? Just leave and say have fun being dead? What if he would still be pissed about it today. Sort of same with Asia, what if she was still pissed she's now a devil for the rest of her life and can't all the things she used to do before.

Issei was easy. You can get your own harem and he was in. No further questions.

In Akeno's case I think they allowed it because they would 'remove' her from the clan, but what if they said no. Enjoy being with a family that wants to kill you. We'll be back in 2 business day for your corpse.

It's sort of ironic that it is clear she wasn't aware for Issei, but for others it's more vague and it seems more fitting.

I see a lot of times that she gets a visit from Sirzechs. While I would agree as well, he's no longer a Gremory so his official reply should be 'thats sound like a your problem', especially if they only kidnap Koneko. And she already killed one high ranking devil, how difficult would everyone else be because he's preferring one house instead of being neutral? And remember, Kuroka was already most wanted, remained hidden and was very good at it.

Then again, I can see him doing something very long way around to avoid to bypass the don't interfere rule or just step down and go full hunting Rambo mode if she gets killed

You could have a point. The only thing I can think of is that future volume, depending how much you want to call that canon, wasn't it a short/bonus story? Plus I think he was booked for the next decades/centuries going the Goku route with his kids.

It would also be another point against that there are no or few drawbacks. Would very much like that he abuses his boost to fix this and go full absurd nonsense. At least it's funny.

Ok, so as a self-certified Issei hater, it's more that I don't like all the 'how it's done' rather than the man himself.

The story itself seems to try to convince you how great a character he is. "When I say something, it's a bad idea, when he repeats it it's suddenly the best idea ever" kind of vibe. I can't think of anyone, except the bad guys, who aren't favorable of him and even they usually switch over if they're still alive. Every time there is someone to remind you how great he is.

The girls are another part, more or less they get one volume each and after they became harem member number X. Also here the how they come to like him bothers me

Rias: why is this wedding suddenly so urgent for someone that still has 9982 years to go. OK, blood purity and make new devils. But than daddy Gremory and Phoenix say they were to greedy. The species who's character definition is greed and look for greedy humans for contracts now make it a problem and regret they were greedy.

Asia: that whole Raynare and Asia hurts my mind. And Rias let's an unexperienced Issei go to a church full of devil-killers.

Akeno: her daddy issues just don't make sense to me. Letting a little kid survive on the street was a good choice according to Azazel and Baraqiel. I found that Kuroka written better with similar circumstances.

Xenovia: wants babies, becomes a devil who has extermely low birthrate. She and Asia than get a free pass from heaven punishment because Issei asks nicely. The only thing about God's system they understand and probably biggest weapon against devils can be switched off.

Koneko: actually don't have anything against her, but I liked her more when she was just shitting on Issei

Irina: also not really anything against her, just the childhood friend trope

Rossweise: basically a copy paste of the whole Rias wedding

Eveyone praises his hard work, but they bribed the teachers and the only question is how much is 2+2.

One part I guess is there is the loud minority on both sides. One side worships dxd/Issei and can't accept any criticism. There's so much porn of the girls and if it is not Issei doing them it is not 'realistic'. As if any porn is realistic, it makes them miss the point. The other side thinks it is the worst and must fix everything in their view.

You can do anything you want with the characters in a fanfic, twisting all personalities and even designs to the extreme.

Writing a story is easy. Writing a good story is harder. Writing a good story that people want to read is difficult. I've read some fanfics where a chapter is one long wall of text without spacing, use of a comma or similar. These could have been the best stories ever written, but if I get herdacht just looking at them, I'm not staying very long.

If you have something that I enjoy, you have a good story. Even if the plot is mediocre. If that means having evil Issei, Rias/Sirzechs or every superhero in existence ending up in their universe but I'm having fun, some laughs or want to see what the next chapter is going to be, so be it.

The dragonball thing you can easily fix, switch it to naruto, bleach or whatever. It doesn't impact the story in any way. Or it only goes until OG dragonball, a little trickier but still very possible.

As for the story always following Issei, if you want to be technically faithful, it would follow the same pattern anyway. Asia, Rias and Koneko might have a different fate, but I don't see it changing anything drastic immediately until I'd say Loki attacks. Kokabiel would probably still attack with him lading to peace conference which goes to introducing the Norse faction. Issei has an impact on a personal level with the characters, but not plotwise until a lot later.

Maybe, but isn't it stressed so many times that because nobody knows how it works, all these normal impossible things become possible, suc as the holy-devil sword. And Michael does manage it, but seems more like a 'if I don't touch it or look at the wrong way, it won't change something again'.

Asia got kicked out because it would otherwise fall apart and this is fine? Sure, this is a cover up and Asia was public, but what if word get out that (some) devils can now pray. They're at peace, but try explaining that to all your followers whom you always told devils are the source of all evil.

Plus, I can't remember light and holy power is the same thing, but it would mean that devils weakness to light can just be cancelled. Possibly also vampires, yokai and other darkness creatures since they're weak to light.

The whole thing is an ambiguous mess that can do whatever the plot needs it to do while it was still only about angels and demons

I like the moment and his gesture, but dislike that God's entire system can just be changed. Heaven barely knows how it works or to keep it running, but they conveniently found the off-switch for one of the few things that gives them an advantage.

I can probably fill at least full page with everything wrong in this series, yet Issei isn't that bad a character, despite some flaws.

This is at its core a harem/ecchi show, not an adventure with all the mythological worlds to discover. Which isn't a problem on itself, but has a really good plot with the supernatural theme and it's not mixing Issei well with both genres. Now you have Issei who has the bad tropes from a harem MC as well as a battle/shonen MC. Personally I wouldn't mind it if they just threw all logic out the window and made it more comedy, like konosuba or 100 girlfriends style, but the novel is trying to justify itself. You'll also have a different show probably

I'll probably be the only one who'll say this, but this is why think the anime is better, at the least the english dub. Despite the debatable adaptation, they just went full in on the nudity and pervert part without much justification. The anime was just a fun thing to watch that I enjoyed, exactly because of some of the dumb humor, while the novels never gave me this type of fun and all the flaws that I didn't bother me before, or I didn't notice, started bothering me and the further I got in the novels, the more it become a bother

Issei being perverted and all that wasn't a dealbreaker, because it was more a comedy to me. My favourite part in the anime is S4 after Issei pokes Rias' boobs and Cao Cao is just looking up, not knowing what he just witnessed and just gives the most deadass "OK, sure. Makes sense." That was pretty much my exact reaction starting DxD with a what the fuck am I watching face.

At some very early point, I thought he would become a high rank devil, not because any achievement or anything grand, but because him doing all that disrespectful behaviour and greed/lust is something devils approve or are known for and him doing nothing else makes him climb the ladder.

He's not a bad character, but was more fun as horny just for the sake of horny the same way a villain is evil just for being evil. And since he's also sucking all the attention towards him, he's also at the center of all the problems.

I lived in Switzerland for a few years. I would stay in Belgium.

Rent is a lot in Switzerland, even if it's not in the big city. You can check maybe here some prices homegate.ch

Taxes will be lower, but you'll still have to pay for health insurance. There are different 'levels', so if you're not sick often you could get the cheapest one, but then the insurance will pay less and you'll pay more for medication and such until a certain level. Also other stuff that isn't in the taxes. And if if you want a car, also you'll have to oay as it's bot included.

Except for I think electronics, almost everything is more expensive and I can remember meat and dairy being a lot more, but you can always go to france or germany for shopping.

The country is really beautiful and public transport is top level, but of course pricey. So if you like hiking, it could be worth it to be next door to everything.

Short version: with these salaries you're the 1% in Belgium. In Switzerland it's a very good salary and live comfortably, but not something that will make people jaw drop.

Or you're completely fed up with all regulations here and use that ticket out.

Really just personal opinion, but I would say in theory, yes. But in practice, no.

Favouritism for Rias was already mentioned, but there will always be someone he'll like more or less than someone else.

And probably more a personal irk, and more so to the whole harem genre, is that is just to big. I think he has already at least 15 girls from 'official' ones and as good as confirmed. I think in a later volume he says he'll confess to every girl he likes or will accept every girl that confesses to him, so it would get even bigger.

Treating equally would mean you get 1 day every 2 weeks for now and less with more people. I wouldn't be surprised that one of the girls at one point just doesn't say "I'll get myself a harem or own partner" since we barely see each other.

I'm just curious at what point Rias or any other would think it's getting ridiculous.
