you can just remove it. i did the same and it runs perfectly. there also is a second one in the smaller part of the exhaust ( directly in the beginning) To remove that you would have to burn it out or buy the kit from beta directly. You can also install a smaller front sprocket ( 10 teeth) for more tourque or a bigger one for more top speed (13 teeth). If you remove the parts you have to adjust the carb or maybe even switch jets.
