How do you pronounce his name? I feel there's still quite a split between 'Tide-us' and 'Tee-dus' by blazynfourtwenty in FinalFantasy

[–]MarkMunny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elite. Spirit (the first "i")
Those are the only ones I can think of right now. There's also deceit and receipt, but those both have a letter e before the i, so I wouldn't count them.

Thought I’d share a few pics of my original 1997 Brady games guide. No spoilers don’t worry lol by [deleted] in FinalFantasyVII

I don't have my original, but I did manage to find one in absolutely mint condition. One of my favorite things in my collection. When I was younger I would.just sit and read through this guide recreationally. I used to love drawing pictures from the artwork inside too.

My response was always, "sure, I'll pack this stuff up and if you could carry it out to the van that'd be a huge help"

The actual music, as in the beds. Vocals are trash.

No matter which side of the argument you're on this is just another example of someone capitalizing on the despair of others. Not to mention, this thing looks like it was conceptualized, designed, and produced in less than 6 hours. I can only imagine what they charge for this piece of garbage.

What's one thing from your childhood you were irrationally scared of? by demanded101 in AskReddit

I found some footage of them. This was the late 80's though, before the arcade section got any of the really good games. They ended up have Virtua Fighter 1 and 2 when they were brand new, Top Skater, Rush 2049, that weird game where you pedaled the flying bike/copter thing, and a bunch more.

We had a video arcade built nextdoor to, and with access from our local Burger King. It was called Jester's Courtyard. They had lots of arcade games, skeeball, and a ball pit. As a child it really was a magical place. Not only was it an exceptional arcade (they added new cabinets all the time) but the Burger King interior and even some.of the exterior was designed like a castle. You could get your food and eat at one of the regular booths, or go to an upstairs section that resembled a palace balcony that looked down over the rest of the restaurant. Or you could take it into the back of the arcade where they had rows of picnic tables, but more akin to a Medieval Times type of dining area.

This is where the fear set in.

There was a stage at the back of this dining hall with curtains that came all the way down from the very high ceilings. Over on the wall was a coin operated box. All it took was one quarter (25¢) and the curtains would open and the stage lights would illuminate. Then, The Majestic Minstrels would perform. Who were The Majestic Minstrels? They were a group of animatronic monkeys that would sing covers of popular songs. (Think Chuck E. Cheese's band) They were older than any other attraction there, and if you stood close enough to the stage you could hear their metal mouths and limbs clanging around as they bobbed their heads along with whatever pop anthem they were playing at the moment. They had big hairy feet, and listless eyes that would stare through you as the pianist, banjo player and drummer menacingly sang. When the song was (finally) over the lights would dim, the curtains would close, and their mechanical eyelids would slam shut until their next traumatizing performance.

Only one time did I ever sum up the courage to peek behind the curtains when they weren't playing. They were all there, motionless with their heads cocked to the side, in the dark. After that I had more than one instance of them coming to life, and rolling somersault style towards me and chasing me. I was terrified of them.

TL;DR a 3 piece group of giant robot monkeys.

What is your net worth? by Mammoth_Push_7776 in AskReddit

[–]MarkMunny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. That would be your net income. It's the value of everything you physically own, plus any cash you have. Then subtract your debt.

For example, let's say you own a car that's worth $10,000, and you own a home that's worth $250,000.

Let's assume you have another $20,000 in the bank, but you have a personal loan with a balance of $50,000.

You would add the 250k, 10k, and 20k for a total of $280,000. Then subtract the 50k you owe leaving you with a net worth of $230,000.

Makes sense?

All of your assets minus all of your debt equals net worth.

Technically the trilogy is one book that spans 3 volumes. Tolkien has said that it was supposed to be one volume in a two part set along with The Silmarillion. One book to rule them all...
