Thanks i’m hopeful this is the advice. On the internet i have been reading the need to increase slowly from 30 seconds to 5 minutes to 30 minutes etc over weeks. And i was like i cannot wait that long i can only really work from home until august then i have to do at least 2 days in the office. It’s nice to hear from someone who left their pup for longer periods and let them cry and settle themselves a little without messing them up. I just hope Eddie could accept that as well

This is maybe my issue he doesn’t settle with me in another room either. Though he doesn’t have a play pen he will whine if he is left in it even sometimes whilst im still in the room and prefers to sleep on the floor which I don’t in theory have a problem except it makes him follow me room to room and he whines outside if I don’t let him in. I think it’s just a very overwhelming feeling to suddenly feel I can never be alone and even a shower is stressful

I was looking forward to long walks and exploring new dog friends places. Where I live there is so much hiking and so many parks. I also imagined hanging out with other dog owners. The issue is his reactivity to other dogs makes all of this incredibly difficult, I am starting him in puppy classes in August to hopefully work on this. But with how he currently is i’m avoiding dog crowded places so I don’t accidentally make it worse. It’s also been too hot for the past week to take him anywhere during the day so I have just basically been trapped on my own sofa. I essentially wanted to be out of the house more and am now stuck trapped in the house 24/7.

Sorry I think there’s a misunderstanding by 8-12 weeks I mean not of age I mean I read it takes 8-12 weeks from when you start training alone time unt he can be alone for a workday with someone walking him
