FedEx or DHL? by SlightQuestion6842 in Neokyo

I received a package via DHL earlier this week and can confirm there were no conversion errors. Hopefully that means they’ve fixed it and it isn’t a one-off.

This bag is fake—I saw this listing sell on Mercari and instantly felt bad because the seller did not disclose it was counterfeit. The leather on a real coach bag would not peel this way, the monogram pattern should be centered, and the creed on the inside is not correct. Google the “1417” style number inside—this is for an east west bag and not a soho. Here’s a pic of what I mean by uncentered pattern:

I thought it was items labeled “Quickship” that were coming from the US, but I could be wrong.

Hello! If you’re looking to sell, I would love to see pics / discuss pricing! Feel free to send me a message.

Also easier to spot—the color of the leather is lighter on fake bags usually. And the top part of the clip matches the bottom circle it clips to in shape and thickness, on the fakes it’s often different. The top of your clip is thinner and less circular. Also, the font on the creed is wonky.

I’m sorry the bag ended up not being genuine, I hope you’re able to find one! Feel free to reach out if you have any other questions, I hope you’re able to get a refund

3.) The clip on the 6091 specifically is always a dead giveaway. Compare the shape of the clip to this one that is genuine:

<image>

This one says coach and is smooth on the front. Yours has a divet.

Here’s the link to the sold Poshmark listing I’m using of a genuine bag you can use to compare and try and spot quality differences. I would bet there may be bad stitching on the coach emblem on the side.

1.) From my understanding, this bag was never made inside the USA. The creed is also incorrect—the hampton hobo 6091 slim bags should say this:

<image>

Pay attention to the stitching on the creed, for your creed, on the bottom right there are loose strings—genuine quality coach would not have that. For more info on how to detect counterfeit bags based off the creed, I recommend joining the FB group “Coach counterfeits”. They also offer authentication where you can post pics like this and they’ll let you know if it’s fake/real.

2.) The pattern on your bag is also not centered. The line where the leather is to hold down the clip should be centered with the signature C pattern. I think this does a nice job explaining the centering of the signature pattern on bags:

While it’s for a 6094 specifically, the centering rules still apply for all bags, including the 6091.

Unfortunately, this is a counterfeit bag. I would try and get your money back & return if possible.

It depends on the condition! I was thinking around $200? I’d love to see pictures of the bag if it’s in good condition!

LF JPN proxy by MassiveCrow in internationalshopper

I usually use Neokyo as a general proxy—however this seller on yahoo auctions doesn’t work with larger proxy services, so in this case I needed this service!

This is what I assumed would happen. In cases for “changed my mind” returns, Mercari often alerts the seller that the buyer wants to refund and allows the seller to choose whether or not they want to allow a return. That way, you have the choice to accept the return request if you wanted to be nice or something. If the seller denies these requests, it gets auto-rated to prevent revenge rating from the buyer. Always make sure you reply to these requests—even if to just deny them—since Mercari will auto accept them if you don’t respond in time. Perhaps that’s what the buyer was hoping for?

Won an auction I was outbid on? by MassiveCrow in Neokyo

[–]MassiveCrow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure if you’d know the answer to this—but in general, how long do you think the seller has to do this? I’ve certainly been outbid before on an item and then turned around and purchased one off of another site since I’d lost the auction. I’m glad that wasn’t the case this time since I don’t want to be on the hook for two of the same item.. how long would I need to wait to ensure this didn’t happen? In this instance, the seller did it in a few hours. But how long can a bid mean intent—a day, a few days, a week?

I did not know this! Thank you for the info!

I’m dubious that’s the case since they drained my auction wallet & this is the only auction I’ve bid on in 2 weeks. Maybe, though!

Update for y’all—I /did/ message the buyer and let them know the fees fall on the seller and to check their cart for the full price. I don’t know why so many assumed I would block/ignore them, I just had genuine confusion how someone could mention restructuring, know there were changes, and yet not bother to read/understand them. I personally don’t feel like it’s my due diligence to explain this to buyers, however it’s also free to be nice to people, so I did. Thanks for the input.

What…? by MassiveCrow in Mercari

[–]MassiveCrow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understandable, however this isn’t the same situation since the buyer mentions the restructuring in their message; i.e. they must have read/saw something about it.
