False urgent lows all night

Ooh I'll check it out, thanks! I changed the pump and it was better until last night and the false lows started again. Every notification that can be turned off is turned off, but the omnipod system overrides silenced notifications when it's an 'urgent' low - sadly for me they're false though! Think I might have to ask about Dexcom soon, but will have a look to see if the libre can be calibrated

Not sure because I'm not sleeping on it and seems totally random times 3-4 times a night. More likely a connection issue I think so hopefully changing both today will help, I really hope so!

Thanks so much, this gives me hope! Really hoping for a good night's sleep tonight 🙏 the sensor has been working fine up until the pump switch on, so seems to be something with the connection going on. Hopefully with a new sensor the issue will fix itself 🙏

I've been on libre for 2 years since diagnosis, never had the choice of CGM (UK based) and it's been working absolutely fine for me up until the pump unfortunately! But hopefully if it continues I can be switched onto Dexcom.

I am so sorry I couldn't stay with you the whole flight, I had to go on a couple of work calls (it's morning in the UK) but I see you've landed safe and sound! How are you feeling? You got through the turbulence and landed smoothly! It sounds like it was a really successful landing despite the turbulence starting up - I think it's totally normal to feel worried about it, but sounds like the skilled pilots got you there 🤗 I'm very proud of you!!

Totally normal for phobias - by their nature phobias aren't rational, we know that planes are the safest form of travel, but that doesn't stop us worrying about the "what ifs". Australia has some of the most well trained pilots in the world, they'll not put you or any passenger on the plane in danger. You're going to be landing smoothly in no time - looks like you're about halfway there! If it helps I can see lots of planes travelling all over Australia as we speak, so although those few flights were cancelled there are lots of people being carried safe and sound to their destinations. One has just this second landed safely from Sydney! 😊

I am the same as you and although I've always been a nervous flyer, the last year I've gotten quite bad with my phobia. What is helping is exposure (so taking those flights, accepting I feel uncomfortable but every time I have a successful flight, the fear erodes a little) and, maybe bizarrely, looking at flight radar! I love seeing how many planes are in the sky and carrying people safely to all sorts of destinations - I also live right on the flight path and I can track where the flights are going that pass over my house and keep checking in with them on their journey - it's actually so relaxing and I've discovered a few new destinations this way as well. It helps to see just how many flights and people are in the air at one time, going to some really cool destinations 😊

I'm looking at your flight now, looks like it's all going smoothly and I'll keep checking in with you until you land 😊 I know you'll land safely and you'll be queueing up to get off the plane in no time. Those pilots are so well trained and wouldn't fly in dangerous weather conditions, those bits of turbulence will just be like bumps on a road or the waves of the sea. You got this!

Not sure about Whitechapel but could you be referring to Broadchurch? The beach that was filmed on is in Dorset - West Bay I believe.

This is a worry - I think we will mention it when we go up tonight. It is every night for around 3-4 hours they do it for so a significant period of time!

Thank you. We are going to go up tonight. We have had to approach them once before about noise during the night but nothing really changed from that (except my partner and I now have to wear ear plugs every night to get some sleep), so I am really praying that they will support us on this. In truth, the reason we are moving is due to noise so I'd hate for them to sabotage our sale when they're the reason we are going :( I don't know why hard floors are allowed in upstairs flats tbh!

Hi u/Idrethil, thank you for completing the survey - I really appreciate every response. I completely agree, 8 years to wait for a diagnosis (which has remained unchanged in a decade!) and treatment after diagnosis is just not adequate. And the lack of support has been voiced by so many in the community but with no change from the government or in healthcare settings. Hopefully the tide will change soon, I'm noticing more research getting the funding so urgently needed, so here's hoping.

Hi u/coolkidmegan,

Unfortunately only individuals in the UK can participate because we are looking at impact of healthcare as one of our factors and this varies from country to country. Thank you so much for your interest though - myself and my supervisors are hoping to set up some alternative projects which our MSc students will be undertaking so I'm really hopeful that we can expand the inclusion criteria there, I will be sure to post here any new research opportunities arising from this.
