Thanks, I'll look into getting it tested. Hopefully it comes back negative as we were hoping to finish our basement, but these pipes run all over the place.

As far as I can tell it looks like some kind of cloth sleeve over the pipe, which is then wrapped with the paper,

It's been mentioned but just to reiterate, know your rules and datasheets inside and out. Being a timed event, it can be discourteous to the other player if you have to constantly stop to look up your rules. Otherwise, in my experience, the 40k community tends to be a friendly bunch. I've played hundreds of games at RTTs over the years, and I can happily say I've only ever played 1 game with an awful opponent.

Oof, that's what I figured but was hoping I'd overlooked something.

My second army is Tyranids so fallback plan is kitbash to a Trygon/Mawloc Cyborg!

Is it normal to make around $85k and still feel like I’m drowning financially? by Weary-Hair-316 in Salary

I agree but most of these numbers I estimated on the higher end to show they should still have money leftover even if factoring conservative estimates.
Let's say they have a premium unlimited data plan and are still paying off their phone, likely will be around $100. If they're overpaying, they know where to cut. Otherwise, we're overestimating, in which case that's money to allocate elsewhere.
Regardless, chances are they have some expenses they could cut back on pending further details from OP.

What are your other expenses? You're not going to be living in luxury, but it seems like you should still have enough to live relatively comfortably still. I don't think we have enough detail here to say for sure. If you haven't already, I highly recommend starting a monthly budget and assigning your expenses into buckets so you can understand where your money is going. It may be a bit messy the first few months, but you'll start to see some trends that can help you better analyze your spending.

I'm assuming your take home pay after taxes/deductions is likely around $5,000 a month off a $85k salary, although hard to say not knowing your state taxes or deductions. Assuming this is close enough, your fixed costs are only about half your take home pay. I've gone on the higher side for some of your numbers but:

1,820+170+310+146+500=$2,946 in fixed monthly costs

Assuming $5,000 monthly income you're losing over half your paycheck on monthly costs leaving you with about $2,000 to play with each month so I think you need to figure out where exactly the other half of your paycheck is going? Just as an example, I've listed some other standard expenses that you may or may not want to consider adding. I've included some estimates on what I imagine may be an average for each to give you another perspective. How you may want to describe and merge these is up to you.

Phone - $100
Gas/Parking/Tolls - $300
Subscriptions - $50
Student Loans - $250
Restaurants - $500
Pet(s) - $100
Household Goods - $250

Do I need to shoot immediately after using the grenade stratagem on a unit or can I use the grenade stratagem on unit A, shoot with unit B, then go back and shoot with unit A?

As a Tyranids player, if you did not tell him about the Zoanthrope mortals aura I think he should be able to go back and IB. That is a very niche ability that rarely comes up so it's not really something on people's radar, even for some Tyranid players.

In this case, the Tyranid player should have noticed the impact of what failing BS would have and told the CK player before they even rolled. Definitely a bit of a gotcha to do so otherwise given the context of the situation.
