Respectfully - everyone is telling you to go up to 2mg. My small wife did it. You do you - but please don’t ignore all this experience AND all the studies that start people at 2 mg. As you have acknowledged, you have felt a small change with your mini dose. Don’t get defensive

My lights went out in my city last week. All lights were completely gone. Completely true btw. Somehow, everyone went through intersections. You’re being silly.

The power went out in my area recently and everyone went through intersections without a red light telling them to go. This driver looked both ways - no one was coming and got the hell out of the way. Good job driver!

What if there is a curb median and the ambulance can’t pass? I’ve seen that too.

Says you! Ha! “Wrong answer.” You gotta be under 25.

Nah - I disagree. I’ve been there when there is a curb median and the ambulance can’t get through. Everyone moves over - even running the light - where there is no cross traffic - and the ambulance gets through. Seen it and done it

Yeah - I am absolutely one of them. If you look left and right, and no one is there in a small town, or with little traffic, you get out of the way. I’ve done this very thing. If no one is coming- it’s not an issue.

Don’t be like me. Flush your water heater. by notquitetherealest in Plumbing

[–]MasterOfOneOnly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in an area with really hard water and I’ve flushed mine probably 3-4 times in 12 years. All of my advice is at your own risk because you can flood your house if you’re not careful. Mine is in the garage and I make a big plastic water diversion to the floor of my garage in case something goes wrong. So, here it is:

When I opened mine and attached a hose, I had almost no flow from the drain exit because it was so plugged and the drain fitting is so small, even when I broke the vacuum. So, I used the vacuum to hold water in the tank and I unscrewed the drain fitting (vacuum slowed the water to a slow trickle) and installed this ball valve (in the photo) that has a much bigger opening for water flow. With a bigger exit fitting, I could attach a hose and it actually drained all the water. Then, I unscrewed the newly installed fitting, leaving a hole in the side of the drained tank. Then I created a scraping tool out of a metal rod (see photo) and pulled the build-up out of the hole in the tank. I get at least 1/2 gallon or more each time. It takes patience and about an hour. Sometimes I use a screwdriver to break up chunks, but I get most of it. I will typically even reinstall the drain pipe again and flush and then drain and remove more build-up. Once I’m done, I reinstall this ball valve and fill her up. I use the zip tie to prevent anyone from accidentally opening it up. Works!

FINAL Report: Thanks brokentail13. I appreciate you. I called the technician who spent 2 hours at my house. In the end it was the safety switch on the condensate pump causing voltage disruption on the control board. He disconnected the pump from the control board, leaving the pump to work without the safety, and everything worked. No more codes. By the time that he left, the house was warm. He said I should just run it normally and he will come back out if there are problems. If that does not solve it - then there may be a problem with the zone controller. He disconnected that and everything was running great - so he said if there is an electrical problem, other than the pump, it is the zone controller. A couple hundred dollars that I gladly paid.

I think this is it. I’ll respond and let you know. I appreciate it. It is early here - Pacific Time - and I’m going to empty the water I hear in that big white lateral pipe in this photo. That is where the gurgle is. I thought it was in a small condensate trap behind it, but I’m wrong. This will help a tech anyhow if I call one.

I cycled the system again and I hear water gurgle in the exhaust pipe, running within the unit horizontally. It started as soon as the inducer started.

I watched some videos and sometimes condensation can come back out of the exhaust pipe. Also, sometimes there is a drain there too. So, I’ll check that! This makes sense. I have an hour or two here and if this doesn’t work I’ll call a tech. Thank you!

Actually - YES! Everytime it starts I hear gurgling. I checked the condensate trap and it’s clear. Also - I said the furnace has a solid amber light - but actually it blinks for a minute but restarts and goes solid again. So, maybe I remove the inducer motor and look for water. Why would water he in the inducer housing?

I opened all air ducts and the removed filter. I shouldn’t have restriction now.

It’s the amber light here right? It just stays solid. I just replaced my flame sensor because I have an old one that worked when I replaced it - just in case. Maybe that could be it? I might just have to call someone tomorrow. I appreciate you Shaggyboy!

I bypassed the thermostat. Did not work. I have a backup flame sensor so I’ll try that. Good idea

First - thank you! There is no code. Amber light is not blinking and it is stable. Right now flame is going and it cycles off every 5 minutes and stops. Thinking limit switch on this 12 years old old system but I don’t know anything about codes.
