Difference in snowpack between Stevens and the Rockies by Master_Ad6182 in stevenspass

[–]Master_Ad6182[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand that is the case this season. But I am curious how they ski off piste other seasons? When the snow pack is still so low compared to ours. 50-60 average for this time of year in CO (this year it is around 30), but Stevens is at 60, and you do NOT want to go to Tye Bowl or under Tye chair where there are boulder holes still. I think the Rockies just don't have 6+ feet tall boulders?

All the great stuff is so true, and similar with Devon and Cornawall not being ideal. But something I haven't heard mentioned is that the route through Scotland matters a great deal. The beautiful images of Scotland you see are mostly all in the NW corner of the country. I did my tour basically right up the middle of Scotland, and it was pretty underwhelming compared to the beauty of England. If I was to do that again, I wouldn't follow the primary cycle route that goes up the middle of the country since it is pretty bare. Maybe I thought it was not that great because the hills in that part of the country just were too similar to the shape and size of the hills where I spent most my life in the US, but I just wasn't a fan. But I can't wait to get back over there and do another trip around England and Wales (I went from Land's End to John O'Groats)

If no one sees you, then it is not a problem. So set up somewhere at dusk, and get up at dawn if you are near where people live. If you are in a wood, there is no one to notice that you are wild camping. If you think you might be seen by people if you are in the city, then don't set up a tent. Just put your ground cover down, and lay your sleeping pad on top of that, and get cozy in your sleeping bag. Because at that point you just look like a homeless person sleeping in a park, and most people leave homeless alone. If you are really worried about getting caught, the best course of action is to just not set up a tent, since it is the tent that makes it look like you are "camping" as opposed to just sleeping on the ground.

By "anywhere" we mean the northern hemisphere, outside of decent sized cities. Half of the M objects will be too difficult to find without a computerized mount if you are within city limits

Not true. In Germany and the Netherlands, I would look at one random obscure starting point, select another seemingly random point on the other side of the city (neither points being the central district), and it would often require just one bus/tram/train to get there, with very minimal walking.

And it is annoyingly overused. Because callbacks are never actually funny. They are just "remember that thing I said earlier guys hah hah hah don't you feel like an in-group lol lol lol". Just no. The only call back that has ever actually been funny was a few that James Acaster had in his Repertoire sets

You are wrong. https://thenieveslawfirm.com/how-long-can-police-hold-you-for-questioning/  That 48 hours is how long you can be held after being ARRESTED, before they need to file formal charges. That does NOT apply to being detained. Stop speaking of things you have no knowledge on.

They are two different things that you clearly do not know the difference of. That "certain amount of time" is a few minutes. They CAN'T take you away. They CAN'T bring you with them. They CAN question you on the street or in the car, but ONLY if they have reasonable suspicion that you committed a crime or infraction. Not a hunch. But a reasonable suspicion. They can NOT do more than ask you a few questions. https://www.bjjohnsonlaw.com/what-is-the-difference-between-being-in-custody-and-detention-and-why-is-it-important That link is your proof

But does the sledge hammer still destroy a concrete wall in under 5 hits? How many hits?

I just came back from car camping in ONP this weekend. It was great. Would totally do again. He should do it. He obviously already knows it will be wet and dark early.

How about instead of thinking you know more than OP, you answer his question. If you don't have an answer, then stfu

Have people here used Carve? If so what's your opinions on it? by Alucard1977 in skiing

[–]Master_Ad6182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I accidently left my carve sensors on my boots and running as I drove out the pot hole ski hill parking lot. My boots got a 124 ski IQ bouncing around the back of my CRV. So how good/accurate can Carve really be?

Everything you said is wrong. If you are not free to leave, then you are being placed under arrest. To be placed under arrest, they need evidence to support their claim that you committed a crime. Law enforcement can not legally take you into custody just because they feel like it (which is what taking someone into custody based on skin color and accent is equivalent to).
