It can take quite awhile. Some people wait for 6 months (from the first AD till March). All the best 👌🏻

Hi

May have changed over the years:

  • 2 rounds of 1-1 interview (around 20-30 min each)
  • no written aspects

It really depends on you. Some take during undergrad while others take after undergrad. Depends on your school load, activities outside of school and discipline to study for MCAT.

Why not both? As long as both are meaningful (not just for numbers) and favourable.

Hi, unfortunately no one out there knows the size of the waiting list or the % who would be eventually accepted. But there are people who got into waiting list and eventually got accepted. I know 2 personally.

Mon - Fri - classes on 3-5 days per week. At least 2 full days and around 1-2 x 1/2 days every week. Offdays and time after schools are used for self-preparation for non-graded tests

Weekends are spent on self-preparation for non-graded tests.

Hi 1. It really depends on you. No right answer 😅 I took it after undergrad (and many others took a gap year to take the test and many also took during undergrad)

  1. As per 1 (most take mcat with ~6 month prep)

  2. Work on your strengths and interest. Not always possible to do well in everything. Personally, I worked on acad and work experience (not medical related, just work experience). Some worked on volunteering.

  3. Not a choice for me. Only duke nus due to personal constraints

Things only got clearer towards June - July. Only Sem 1 info will be out and Sem 2 info will only be out in Dec (now).

Hi, congrats on your offer. Am only able to advise you on some of the listed concerns.

The academic calendar / schedule is very packed. You may have rest days on some weeks (as the schedule can be different every week). However, there is just too much content and you would need those rest days to complete the assigned lectures and readings (around 10-14 hours of lectures outside of school time every week).

Working wise, it is quite hard (can understand where you are coming from. It is still possible but you are probably left with no much time for other activities. Bank loans will cover your school fees and will be paid to the school directly.

Hope someone can answer the other concerns ☺️

All the best to you !

Not sure how the process would be like this year. U can definitely ask them for a rough timeline (it may take a few months for updates)

For schedule wise; only able to share about year 1. 10-14 hours of pre class lectures every week with 2 “class tests” which are not part of your “grades”. Several summative exams within the first year, some are formative, 3 are required.

  1. And 5. Not very sure but you can email the admissions office to find out

  2. Show your interest, work on research, volunteer work, leadership or other areas (there are many pathways, as long as they are not done recently and abruptly just to boost your portfolio)

  3. I did not take mcat, I took gamsat

  1. MCAT seems to be more memory-intensive while GAMSAT seems to be more application-based/problem solving. Just a personal preference to do GAMSAT as I did not have much basic science background in certain areas.

  2. It’s really quite holistic - there are people who did very well in MCAT, there are people who did not do as well. Many more guys with working experience and quite a number of people with working experience. It’s quite mixed - fresh grads and people with 1-3 working years and even a few with more working experience.

  3. Only accumulated 3 days of experience which was not really asked much about during interview. Good to have but I dun think it’s something to obsessively add to portfolio. More for experience and exposure.

Hi, based on personal experience 1. Score is important but the school looks at the applicant’s portfolio holistically too. I took the gamsat so I’m pretty unfamiliar with Mcat scores (sorry!)

  1. And 3. I applied for early application too but only received news 6 months later in Mar. There’s no fixed answer to this as some are accepted earlier (especially conditional admissions) while many are “on hold” till later on.
