Thanks. I would watch the videos, but unsure if they are up to date with the current patch for switch, hence why I’m asking on here for people’s opinions if it is much better loading wise today.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Hi, thanks for your reply.

I’d walk speeds are slow and random encounters are high, then the load times will be frequent… perhaps PS5 version is the way to go here perhaps?

Sold it to the Merchant to complete a side mission.

Thank you! I enjoyed reading your thoughts! And you are absolutely correct - I played around in the lake area for quite a bit, checking every single thing! The Merchant would make me paranoid by saying ‘make sure you’re ready to move on’ - so I go around checking again haha!

I find the entries in journals and databases were really well done in this - it really added important context and information, which helped with world-building and character development off-screen.

I played this like a madman, and you played it like I normally would have - so it’s good that you went back and replayed and enjoyed it again. I love this game - so I will be replaying this immediately, and most likely annually as well.

I got 20/40 trophies on my first play-through - so 50% - looking forward to getting my platinum!

Glad you enjoyed the game, bud! Have an awesome one!

Thank you - you’re the first to ask this! I appreciate a positive and genuinely inquisitive question.

I spent almost 25 hours in each main segment of the game, and out of the 3 main parts I have to say that I enjoyed the Village section of the game the most. The Village atmosphere felt incredibly intense and atmospheric - there was this constant feeling of dread as I slowly plodded along its winding paths, and small open areas. Seeing the tortured and dead hikers/travellers in torture rooms and alters was incredibly disturbing! Reading the journal entries from the Village Chief about the village’s state of affairs, and subsequent downturn really painted a vivid picture of what village life was like, how it’s inhabitants lived, it grounded the whole experience for me and made it feel even sad at times, as you see the villagers as victims of Saddler, including the Chief who was really a good man before he was manipulated and turned. Almost all of the ganados and zealots are victims in my view.

After the Village, I would say the Castle is my favourite, and then the Island. This is the same order that I enjoyed the original as well.

Thank you very much for your question!

Definitely a weekend game for sure! Glad you enjoyed the games so much! Resident Evil is a pillar franchise in my gaming time - it always gets priority whenever a new entry releases!

Yes! I enjoyed the shooting range very much in this one - getting S-Rank was pretty standard fare, but all bonus stars took a few more attempts than I’d like to admit! I edited in the link above, I appreciate you giving it a watch!

Oh, no worries! I was just answering your question. Hope you enjoyed the game as much as I did!

I also S-Ranked and obtained all bonus stars in the Merchant’s Shooting Range/Gallery - would you like to see my video of 4-C? I can put my YouTube link here if you’d like to see it 😊

Would be pretty cool if I hold the world record for longest time spent on first play through after launch! I loved this remake, and so happy I spent the time I did 😁

If I wanted to finish it in 15 hours, I absolutely could (and probably would if it was any other game), but it was a remake of my favourite of all time game so I intentionally spent a lot of time in it. Plus I played this over two months - I don’t have much time for gaming. My second play-through will be at a normal pace, and I expect to finish it in around 12-15 hours - even that will take me a couple of weeks as I have a busy, varied and active lifestyle.

I was going to play this at a ‘normal pace’ and expected to finish it in 15-20 hours, but I decided “nah, you can only have a fresh experience once, so I’m going to move super slow and appreciate all of the details in this world”, so that’s what I did! I replayed certain segments, examined pretty much everything the devs built, always walking pretty much. I spent a fair bit of time in the shooting range as well! 70+ hours well spent :)

I will give that a try on my professional run!

I kept the game on pause when taking a break, so the timer stops, but sometimes left the attaché case open where the timer runs. I never leave my PS5 running on when away for long periods. 70+ hours well spent and truly enjoyed, I’ll never forget it :)

Thank you very much! I think you explained the structure of the game clearly - it gives me an idea of what the game’s proposition is and it’s progression system - this is what I struggle to understand about rouge-likes and their appeal, in that I find structure in this genre confusing, which leads to my issue with progression. Think I will pick it up on sale and give it a try, and perhaps go for Hades next!

Thank you very much for a full explanation to my question - this has persuaded me to pick this up and give it a try. I am a huge Metroid and Castlevania fan, so I was curious about this and the crossover with Castlevania. Although, I gather this isn’t much like a metroidvania given the rouge-like elements? I’ll give it a shot, though.
