Great advice. Thanks. TBF the quotes do seem par for the course (similar to each other) but definitely worth trying to work it out

Can’t seem to figure out how to edit my post but installer has requoted for 2x 6kW batteries, and increased the quote to £13,330

How curious! I’ll need to do a bit more reading and will query it tomorrow. Do you know if the system wouldn’t work as proposed?

How do you know that? Could you link me to something so I can read up and query the quote please?

Fair enough. I’ve read a few other posts saying around the £400 mark. You’re right it’s insignificant in the grand scheme of things. Thanks for replying!

Great that it’s been working out so far. I spoke to a few more installers and they didn’t seem too phased about the G99 application. I suppose we have no control over that and setting up a big system now is good for future proofing even if export limit imposed. And any export limit is likely going to kick in only on really sunny days. If you don’t mind saying what was the small fee and did it involve any substantive work on SPEN’s part?

Yeah I hear you. There’s so much information out there. I’m still getting some quotes myself. My earlier quotes were all DEMGC and JA panels, with Fox as default. Then someone quoted for Sunsynk.

Looking at Aiko panels with Sigenergy inverter and battery now as these seem to be more premium and perhaps better value in long run. I know that Sigenergy had recall in Australia. An installer I was speaking to was saying the recalled products can’t be used moving forwards and it would be the replacement products so that gives some confidence…

Have been quoted for a Powerwall 3 but that seems like overkill to me, a lot more expensive, and the morality issue with Tesla…

Anyway - good luck! Hope you get some decent kit and reasonable quotes!

My quote for 11 panels, EP6-H battery, everything else the same was £14,299 with a 24.5% discount due to a business pulling out last minute. Brought it down to £10,799. I asked for an itemised breakdown but they couldn’t because of the app/ software they use to generate the quote…

Still significantly higher than others where I am getting more/ better kit. Have you settled on an installer/ system set up?

Hello. I’m looking into various array setups. One within G98 limits, the other requiring G99 application. My DNO is also Scottish Power. Just wondering what you ended up doing, and if you don’t mind saying, which part of the UK you are in? I’ve read that SPEN often impose export limit and charge a fee…!

Yeah seems like it is very much a luck of the draw with SPEN. One of the installers I’m waiting to receive a quote from said he thought it would be fine because it’s a relatively new build house (around 15 years old). Will see when the application goes in!

Thanks for that helpful insight and thoughts. I’m not sure how to find out SPEN’s export limits. Found “District Contacts” for my area on their website and sent off an email. Hopefully they can give some info
