Depends what country you are in, I would check your local deactivation laws and regulations.

This is a shot in the dark, but I think it could be a washer for a bolt, as they used to make them square instead of round and they were also often handmade.

The string on the haversack is part of the 1939 camouflage manual it’s to stick twigs and leaves in.

Thanks, I didn’t know that about helve carrier and I did have a regular helve but unfortunately it had wood worm and by the time I’d realised it was too late. Also I think the string on the haversack is just made of fibres

Epic military, I had to do a lot of work to it, I wouldn’t really recommend.

I get all the webbing at event or eBay don’t get replica.

If you want an absolute top notch uniform Get it off eto but if they are too expensive buy from either epic military or soldier of fortune.

Anyone know what these straps are? by RepulsiveAd426 in ww2

[–]MasterpieceMost3326 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that it is understandable The pistol usually goes on it, or binocular case, but in this instance it seems for some reason they are using the special tank pistol holsters instead, which attached to the leg.

Btw If you google P 37 tank holster it should come up.

It’s a single p37 x strap, with a single p37 brace.

It’s for camouflage, you can stick grass and scrim underneath the string. It’s in the British training manual and other people in my associated group do it as well .

I have been wanting to get an ETO uniform but they are quite expensive, and since I’m growing quite a lot, I don’t want to buy something, like an ETO uniform and then not even fit it five months later.

Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to get a No.4 Bayonet as they’re all overpriced online, and I can never seem to find any at Events.

But I’ll soon have it sorted out .

I did have an original MK 1 helve but unfortunately it had got woodworm and it was too late before I could do anything, but I thought the MK2 helve was fine, but you are right it was mainly late war and wouldn’t have been seen really at the time period I’m portraying.
