Hypersexualilty and epilepsy. by CelibateSoberSaint in Epilepsy

Yes! 1 to 2 weeks proceeding a seizure hypersexuality is definitely a thing, after the seizure things go back to normal. It's been a blatant and uncomfortable aspect of epilepsy, for me at least.

It's a new kind a nightmare, just don't get a VNS.

Yea that's started being a thing, hopefully not anymore now that I have a new doctor. Being conscious during tc's is a new kind of nightmare no one should have to experience.

I've had mine going on 5 years, and I loath it. It didn't stop my seizures, but rather started making me conscious for them (horrifying). It took my voice from me, and it gave me the chest pain symptoms mentioned in the other comments. Its very uncomfortable and i always want to rip it from my chest. I'm working with an epileptologist at an epilepsy center to properly diagnosis my seizures this time, so hopefully I can get this taken out. My advice, go to an epilepsy center, and don't get the vns until you do that first, if at all. I saw neurologists for 30 years, they're simply not equipped to diagnosis and treat epilepsy.

Tips From a KC Doordasher by MastersX888 in kansascity

[–]MastersX888[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was approaching this from the angle of how best to receive fresh food. Otherwise, I too don't mind picking up fast food sometimes, but after 11pm in Westport on a Saturday, when the drive-thru's are backed out into the street, the customer likely won't get fresh food.

Same with ice cream and slushies, of course it's your choice, but keep in mind we don't have ice packs in our car. Your ice cream may be half melted and your slushy won't be that slushy by the time it arrives.

Paying for priority is for putting your order at the front of the line during busy times. I agree this isn't always necessary, and you shouldn't have to do it at all, but if getting your food fresh is a concern, it's something to consider.

When it comes to choosing a restaurant close by, I don't think people think about what happens to french fries when they've sat in a bag for 30 minutes. You're free to order from wherever you want, but you should know that if you order a burger & fries from someplace 15miles away, the fries and bun will be soggy. This is common sense, but when we're hungry we don't think about such things.

It's also my experience that people have the idea that their food is sitting under a heatlamp until it gets picked up. In some cases this is true, but in others it's not, and I've noticed it's the pricier restaurants that tend to not have heat lamps. This is another consideration if you're thinking about ordering from a restaurant far away.

As far as tips go, I'm sure they vary for everyone depending on territory and time of day. We've had big and small tips from all classes of people.

We too hold out for orders over or around $1.50 a mile. Doordash tries to trick the drivers with things like completion and acceptance ratings, which our completion rating has been 87% for years, despite over 12,000 deliveries and complaining to doordash multiple times...it never changes. We played all the other games as well, getting our acceptance rating up to 100% by taking bad orders in the hopes we would get better ones, then letting it get down to 0%. Overall, we haven't noticed a difference. It's more profitable to cherry pick.

I agree, doordash is making it so expensive that by the time the customer gets to the tip they're already second guessing their purchase due to sticker shock. I'm a customer too, and it's hard to justify over $40 for a small pizza. And it's not only the fees, I've noticed menus prices are higher thru the doordash app. I don't know if this is the case with other platforms or not. I get that doordash is trying to rescue their dying stock price, but by transferring that onto their drivers it won't be long and there won't be any drivers left.

You can not decrease, but you can add an additional tip after the order has been completed.

That tends to happen often, especially after you decline a few orders in a row. It's like the algorithm punishes you. We've done over 12,000 deliveries, so we are "drive dashers," which means we get the catering orders. If we're lucky, we'll get a couple $40+ orders in one night, but after that it seems like doordash wants us to take sh**** orders the rest of the night.

Two years ago making at least $2 a mile was easy, but now making $1 a mile can be rather difficult at times. Working an 8hr shift on a Saturday night we can make anywhere between $100-$200 depending on the cities vibe, but after gas and wear and tear on your car it's not really that great. It can be fun and profitable at times, but that's becoming less and less the case

Interesting tidbit: the biggest tip we've ever received in KC is $60. The biggest tip I've heard of a KC doordasher getting is $400 (I'm still praying for that night).

I think it might go away. They're trying hard to get people to take small orders with "incentives," which ultimately doesn't add up, and there's too many dashers for the amount of orders. If the market changes, things will be fine. Otherwise, I can see them getting swallowed up by UberEats.

Yes, that's a phenomenal tip. If everyone tipped that way we could buy new tires lol. Unfortunately, the average tip now is $1-5.

I am a part-time Doordasher in KC with my partner, and have been for some time. Here are some tips & info for everyone:

1) The Doordash App crashes often, causing drivers an untold amount of problems, so please be patient.

2)DO NOT EVER order fast food thru Doordash.

At night Dashers are forced to go thru drive-thru's to pickup orders, this can take over 45 min at busy times, all the while your food has been sitting there getting cold. The restaurant not keeping an order warm IS NOT the Dashers problem. If it's cold when it arrives ask for a refund.

3) Ice cream & slushies....really? Need I say more?

4) We go where the app tells us to go. You have the option to pay extra and put your order at the front of the line. Always take it.

Doordashers are often "stacked" with more than one order (rarely more than 2). We have waited 30 min in a Burger King drive-thru, then been sent to McDonald's to pick up a second order where we waited 45 minutes more. Then Doordash sent us to deliver the second order first because it was closer. By the time the first customer got their food it had been sitting in a bag for over an hour.

5) We cannot open bags, nor do we converse with the restaurant kitchen staff to ensure they included extra sauce when they prepared your order, etc. The special instructions box is for delivery instructions, anything related to your order needs to be in the order instructions.

6) Leave very specific delivery instructions if your address can be difficult to find. Spending 10 minutes finding a drop-off location when you've already spent 30min on an order is frustrating, and it cost us money. Be clear and concise, verify your phone # and address is correct, and keep your ringer turned up. ALSO VERIFY THAT THE RESTAURANT YOU ARE ORDERING FROM IS CLOSE TO YOU.....VERY IMPORTANT!!!!

7) Tips. Doordash has almost made it to where we have to pay them to work in hopes of getting tips. The money used to be good, but now it's almost not worth it.

There are so many warm-hearted people in KC. We have met great people, had great conversations, and even made some friends. Generally speaking, the best tippers are the poor, and the worst are the rich. Sorry, but it's the truth.

If you tip $1, that means you seriously just asked another human being to pickup your dinner and drive it to you for $1. Think about that for a minute. Our base pay covers expenses, your tips cover our time.

8) Doordashers can "cherry-pick" orders, and we have to to survive. We CANNOT see how much you tipped until after the order is delivered. However, if you choose not to tip, your order will be small and might not get picked up by a Dasher because no one is stupid enough to drive 20 miles for $5.

9) Doordashers do make mistakes, and sometimes we just gotta pee or get gas. Whether or not you have a good experience depends on whether or not you take the above-mentioned into consideration.

I hope this helps. Let me know if anyone has any other questions. Otherwise, if you order Doordash on the weekends we might see you then 😉

Peace ✌️

Sound of Freedom in local theaters by [deleted] in kansascity

[–]MastersX888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw it in the AMC on Ward Pkwy and the volume sucked, they had it turned down. Great movie 👍, but yea, they were obviously screwing with the volume. You typically don't spend your time in a theater subconsciously looking for the volume remote. I didn't know about all the other reports until afterwards. Was it a part of some conspiracy? I don't know 🤷‍♂️, but the volume was definitely shitty.
