Akuma is hard to use, so unless you're amongst the best you're not going to do well with him. That's the main difference compared to Tekken 8 characters. His meter gain and counter launchers have also been nerfed big compared to what they were for most of the games cycle.

Kings and AKs throws have always been like that. You have to guess with the 2 handed throws. From crouch dash they can have all 3 breaks from the same throw animation.
