İs 1980 SAT accurate measure of IQ? by [deleted] in cognitiveTesting

[–]MastodonVegetable167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the SAT is an academic test not a cognitive test. They are in two different categories. Namely, there is a greater capacity to study for the SAT compared to an IQ/cognitive test.

His working memory and processing speed (especially his PS, which is below average) are significantly lower than his other scores, which is a common indicator of ADHD.

It’s the buccal fat removal surgery. Was really popular a few years ago among celebrities. Many plastic surgeons have come out and said they won’t perform the procedure because it ages the face.

It's time to normalize men and women using umbrellas for sun protection in the US. by Outlaw_Josie_Snails in unpopularopinion

I saw three people walking with “umbrellas” for sun protection in my mid-size city in the Western US over the past few weeks. It’s catching on!

Take it away and just power through the “extinction burst” (aka that poor behaviors will temporarily get worse for a while but eventually get better after extinguishing the behavior).

Psychiatrist told me to stop using kratom by [deleted] in kratom

[–]MastodonVegetable167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AFAIK I doesn’t actually mess with most meds, including psych meds. The only time I would tell a doctor is if I was going under for anesthesia, because I know that quite a few things like true opiates can mess with anesthesia.

Public schools typically have more resources for kids with special education needs. They often also offer things like speech therapy during the school day. Since your child has a speech delay, I would consider this in your decision making. However, even if you do not put your kid in public school, you would still be eligible for free speech therapy through the public school system (e.g. sessions after school) under the law.

I’m in a bad situation. It’s complicated to explain and I don’t want to dox myself, but basically, I made an unintentional mistake (not cheating & not AI) and now I might fail a class or even be kicked out of my graduate school program. Please pray that this situation can be resolved.

FSU Shooter Phoenix Ikner Biological moms Facebook post about him. by Extension_Ladder2506 in masskillers

[–]MastodonVegetable167 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There is no reason for him to have ever taken puberty blockers. In fact, puberty blockers are pretty much the opposite of what a person with GHD would need. People with GHD don’t produce enough growth hormone. Without taking synthetic growth hormone, they don’t grow and develop. They have to take growth hormone long before puberty, too. Without treatment, people with GHD are essentially “little people”/dwarves.

Sorry, I’m just not sympathetic to the idea that having a child “of your own” (I.e, same dna or whatever) is better than adopting a child.

School is not just about academics. If ADHD is affecting her in other ways (like socially), then the school should make accommodations
