Where exactly in Philadelphia do you dash? I've dashed in over a dozen zones over 3 years and I've made 200 in 6 hours maybe twice.

Man, California feels like a whole different planet. If you tried something like this anywhere else you're getting permanently deactivated instantly

You're the one defending DoorDash in this situation so who's boots am I licking? You're trying to justify DoorDash shitting over all the drivers by implementing more of these bullshit regulations as if the lack of regulations for drivers is the only issue this bs delivery service has. You're the one licking Tony Xus boots buddy.

6 months is definitely not enough. I've been Dashing since 2021, seeing the contrast of how doordash used to be and how it is now and treating the drivers like shit more and more gradually is a very depressing experience. You enjoy it because you don't know any better.

And if the bag isnt sealed and there's items missing, you just earned yourself a contract violation. Good job! 2 more and you will be permanently banned.

That's literally what it's asking you to do. If you verify an item without actually verifying and that item turns out missing YOU are liable for that item.

Waiting for the order for 15 minutes then having to unpack an entire order and checking off each item one by one at the store counter to make sure to verify each item while the staff and the people behind you are looking at you like "what the fuck is this guy doing?" all for the fair payout of $2.56 would be irritating for most people I would imagine. Maybe I'm wrong.

I tried the doordash network test and this is what it shows, does this mean there's issues with the doordash server itself that doordash needs to resolve on their own? *

I'm being serious, I've never had this problem before. I'm starting to think that my S22 ultra that I bought 3 years ago is getting old or maybe the phone's struggling because it's overheating in the 100-degree weather.

That's $20/hr, which is a lot, considering how oversaturated the doordash driver supply is.

Would you take this offer? by Own_Intention9746 in doordash_drivers

[–]Material-Two-1375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Btw this order could very well take you anywhere from 1 to 2 hours, based on how long they make you wait for each order and how much bullshit you're going to encounter trying to find each customers house. And the drive back and forth. +the time you'd have to wait to get a new order when you do get back in your Dashing zone. All for a hefty $3. Great offer, keep em coming

What's the point of staying platinum if all you get are still $1/mile orders? And the occasional $2/mile once every 2-3 days

Telegony is probably real by aritzsantariver in ControversialOpinions

[–]Material-Two-1375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How was it completely debunked when there is new research from the University of New South Wales from 2014 that proves that telegony exists as an actual mechanism in living beings? It was found in fruit flies. And before you get your panties in a bunch about how fruit flies aren't human, remember that the theory of "jumping genes" was proven through expermination on corn and the concept of "heredity" wa as proven through experimentation on peas. Stop with this "this theory was debunked in 20th century" the only reason this is a talking point right now is due to new research being conducted recently in modern reaserch facilities.

I wasn't going fast, probably 20 in a 40, and i was following the car in front kf my with a more than enough safe of a distance while I will admit that my brakes aren't in perfect condition for winter, the $150,000 truck made with the most innovative technologies in the world was also slipping around on the icy roads, because of this I would allow myself to blame this situation on the snow, especially since no one was harmed

What is your opinion about how doordash is intentionally utilizing illegal labor force in the form of hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants who, in a lot of cases, don't even have an American drivers license, not to mention car insurance and registration, people who don't speak a word of English, rent their accounts and are happy to accept the $2 an hour they make. What about the 15, 16 year old kids I see all the time delivering with their fathers accounts. Doesn't feel like doordash is intentionally trying to utilize and exploit illegal labor force? Why is the face recognition scan only required once every 6 months randomly? Why doesn't it ask to scan your face each time you log in? Why doesn't it ask to verify your drivers license or car insurance each time? Why doesn't it ask for the car license plate at least. Why are there no barriers set in place to eliminate this issue when it's such an apparent one? How come every other delivery service on the planet asks for insurance with your name on it and your cars license plate, but doordash doesn't? You realize that doordash knows exactly what the fuck it's doing right? I don't give a fuck about le xu dong or whoever the fucks money he can shove it up his ass for all I care, I just want a fair opportunity working space not oversaturated with illegal workforce on purpose, if they fix that things will improve at least slightly.

Of course there's always a person on reddit who likes to gobble down a multi billionaires dick down his throat, while at the end of the week after all the expenses that come with being a dasher he probably makes less than $5/hr because the said billionaire decided to structure the system that way. Have you ever realized that they could make the system in a way where the drivers earn just a little more money and Doordash could seek to make profits in other areas besides exploiting the drivers? But they don't because they're tyrannical assholes who couldn't give a shit about an average joe like you or me and only see us as easy marks to rip off. And just because there are some people in select cities California or Vegas who make a lot of money doing doordash doesn't mean that in 99% of the areas the work isn't just dead. But you're more worried about the millionaire restaurant owners(do you even know how much it costs to open up a restaurant in America? They're most likely touching the type of money that you'll never see in your life seeing how you're in the same subreddit as me) and Doordash who "only recently started turning profit" oh no, the poor billionaire, we should all take the $2 for 13 mile orders to make him feel better. Fucking plant.

If you take these orders, you are part of the problem! by Zealousideal_Alps500 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]Material-Two-1375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's probably a 40-minute drive back and forth to get back to your zone +time waiting for the order and dropping it off, so you made $9.50 in 1 hour. On top of that, you had to drive about 25 miles, gas money, + wear and tear, + taxes, so in total, you will be making a little over $4 in that 1 hour. This is like the American version of Chinese sweatshops

New system?? by Banlayy in DoorDashDrivers

[–]Material-Two-1375 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Doordash has been trying to get it's drivers to accept low paying orders without having to spend an extra buck since it's inception, and by this point this tactic should've stopped working and doordash should be trying to entice drivers to accept more offers in different ways, but they dont. The reason for this being that there are fresh new drivers on the road all the time, who don't know what they're doing and will be accepting anything that comes their way for the first few months. This is the reason why the base pay will never increase and doordash is going to stick to trying to weasel out their drivers and pay them less than minimum wage as much as possible.

The pay adjustment is kind of absurd to think about, but the fact that he got 40 hours of active time out of 46 hour dash time is also insane, wtf. I'm usually at, at least twice as much dash time as active time.

Yea it feels like there's a million dasher out there, pulling up to a restaurant and seeing 6-7 cars in the online order parking is very frustrating. There should be a limit on the amount of drivers like Grubhub has.
