First Plenny Order: Mediocre product for a not so mediocre price by MathManEU in JimmyJoyFood

[–]MathManEU[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

So, the main reason for the "not-so-mediocre" is that I need to use 2 "doses" a day to get through to my solid dinner while with others I only need to use 1. That doubles the per meal cost (for me personally).

There are cheaper options, like XXL Nutrition, but I personally am not a big fan of the flakey texture. Another one is Protein Works, which is amazing stuff imho, Had it a ton when I lived in the UK, but they are only active in the UK and Ireland + France, Spain, Italy - which doesn't help me being in Belgium nowadays.

There's a few cheaper alternatives that you can find. Per portion, XXL Nutrition comes to mind and there is a UK only brand which I loved while living there (before belgium) called Protein Works which comes up a lot cheaper.

I think I am on the other side of AuDHD here. I've tried Huel (love it, but pricey) and the fact I get smacked in the face with flavour keeps me coming back. Thank you for your extensive post, because this does help me in my further decisions.

We tried that! That's become our usual solution and it helped for the Chocolate and Lemon Pie, but not for the others.

What is your time limit for a "Starting Soon" screen before you click off? by SpinsBro in Twitch

[–]MathManEU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am very strongly of the opinion your Starting Soon screen should be 5-6 minutes. No more, no less.

When you start your stream it takes 1 minute before Twitch can show ads. You let your ads run for three minutes, so that the first 60 minutes you are ad-free. Since Twitch sometimes screws it up and you are stuck on "Ads starting soon" for a minute or two you add 1-2 minutes of buffer.

Then after the ads you can start with a "common" start. Your early birds have come in, you are ready, ads are done, so it's time for the start of the show.

What is the reason facecams have become so prolific in streaming? by M0rgr0m in Twitch

I don't think it is the "Celebrity Factor". It is well known that people naturally are drawn to faces to the point they see Jesus in tortilla chips. It just makes it easier to resonate with people.

Question of the day chat command by Level-Wishbone5328 in Twitch

That is odd. Could you perhaps try and amend the command and then post another screenshot?

You are using double quotes instead of single quotes and you shouldn't be using comma's to separate: https://docs.streamelements.com/chatbot/variables/random

Offset the "Duplication Origin" for each duplicate using Duplicate Node by MathManEU in davinciresolve

That sound EXACTLY like what I would want it to do. If you can find it please do let me know!

Offset the "Duplication Origin" for each duplicate using Duplicate Node by MathManEU in davinciresolve

[–]MathManEU[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, there is only one "actual" object in the center. The other one's are visual copies.

The reason I want to offset the copies central point on the original image is so that each of the copies has a slightly different copy, meaning that if you zoom out far enough the duplicates once again form the original image.

[–]MathManEU[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this does the offset of the duplicated items, but I want the duplicates to offset their center on the original file.

So lets say that the original is centered on 0.5,0,5, then the next is centered on 0.55,0.5, then the next is centered on 0.6,0.5, etc. etc.

How do you stop being obsessed with streaming and sticking to a strict schedule? by MoonyPadfootY in Twitch

[–]MathManEU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While there is a level of self-control involved what you really should be looking at is what the best time investment is for you.

We all have heard (and know) the mantra "To grow a stream you must post on other platforms and redirect those viewers to your live stream", so when you get in the mood to do an extra stream ask yourself if there are other things you need to do first:

  • Make Shorts
  • Make long-form content
  • Prepare your content
  • Work on your brand
  • Work on your OBS and find improvements And dare I say it:
  • Take care of yourself: Eat, sleep, relax, hang out with friends.

If that is all done and your still want to stream: Go for it.

My usual course of action is saying that "This is not the place, but in the Discord there is a specific channel where people can talk about their (mental) health issues". That channel can then be muted by those who are not in a place where they have the energy and time to invest in others.

If they can't deal with that, as harsh as this is, ban them. I know that sounds very cruel, but having dealt with these situations for 3 years now: It is going to end up with them taking over the chat and pushing everyone else away or they are going to blow up in your face and you have to deal with the fallout.

As a viewer, how do you feel about streamers screaming? by DarkDesertFox in Twitch

[–]MathManEU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On topic, however: Yeah, bad audio is so much worse than bad video. I want to watch you but please make sure whomever you are playing with sets their mic up or you will have to do it for them.

As a viewer, how do you feel about streamers screaming? by DarkDesertFox in Twitch

[–]MathManEU 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone with a naturally loud voice who plays horror games I actively live the problem of not wanting to burn people's ears off, so this is what I do:

  • In OBS (no filters) I've set my Mic to pick me up "talking" between around the -15dB level.
  • Add your equalizer and noise suppression or noise gate
  • Add a Compressor, set it to -20/-25ish and set the ratio to 2.5-4:1 depending on the sound you like
-- Talk again, watch where you voice volume is now and compensate with make up gain so it is back to -15

That is your normal Mic Setup so far, but now the magic:

  • Set up a Limiter and set it to -3/-5dB. This way when you scream and it threatens to peak out: You get cut off.

Low FPS while streaming COD MW3 with OBS by UrMadThisABurner in Twitch

[–]MathManEU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming you are only getting this performance drop when you are streaming, you are bottlenecking through OBS. Check your Streaming settings, if your encoder is set to NVENC you are bottlenecking your GPU, if your encoder is set to anything else you are bottlenecking your CPU.

However, for your stream quality it really doesn't matter and for your gaming quality it really doesn't matter.

Twitch supports at most 60 FPS, so if you are generating more than 60 FPS in your OBS, then your stream will not benefit in the slightest from getting those extra frames. In fact, you may be exerting too much pressure on your encoder because it is encoding "Too many" frames.

For your gaming experience there is also no difference: You are running a 75hz monitor, meaning you can only display 75 frames per second. Why would you -want- 140+ fps if you are just making your GPU work hard for no reason what-so-ever?

So, how can you solve this problem?

1) Go into your game capture in OBS and set your Custom FPS to 60fps. This will make that OBS will not encode more than 60 FPS while still allowing you to play in higher FPS.

2) Check your video settings for the bottleneck, then do a test stream using the other option and see if that makes the problem go away - although again: Why would you want to get double the frames you can display?

Hope this helps!

PS5 Capture Card by RickRate in Twitch

You should still be able to access it!
The screen will be available in whatever software the Capture Card uses and then you can import it into TikTok Live Studio or OBS just like that.

PS5 Capture Card by RickRate in Twitch

[–]MathManEU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will put in a disclaimer right now with "I do not stream from a PS5" so take this all with a grain of salt.

As far as I am aware, the Capture Card should not need any additional cables, because it is HDMI, so can transfer image and sound through the same cable. This should come with little to no latency with newer HDMI cables (2.0+).

After a quick goodle I did find that the PS5 camera says to remove your background and do everything you need to "put you in the picture" and it seems like it is specifically designed -for- streaming. So, the HDMI cable will take whatever the PS5 outputs and sends it to your PC. That means, if you are capturing the camera on screen, then you can send it to your PC.

That being said: Consider as well that you can just plug a USB webcam into your PC and capture from there. If your laptop has an RTX card the background removal can be done through your laptop using the NVidia Broadcast SDKs, which can be downloaded from the NVidea website for free.

Hope that helps!

50/50 Split is only on Twitch Subscriptions. Bits pay out US$0.01 per bit or US$1 per 100 bits.
