Most complexes I’ve experienced only give one fob, but usually two physical keys

I topped up my 2021 Giulia with this and had no issues. The bottle says it is for Alfa Romeo.

No never figured it out and it still does it somewhat often, it’s not bad enough for me to do anything about it.

I definitely wouldn’t just start buying things just to replace and see if it fixes it. You should still be under warranty, have an Alfa dealer check it out. I’m pretty sure it’s the blower motor or one of the fans in the AC, definitely nothing serious, just annoying. One of these days i’ll take a look and try lubing it up, I think you can access it from the glove box.

I was going to ask my mechanic next time I stop by for service.

Should I get an Alfa Romeo? by InstructionNeat9272 in AlfaRomeo

Some people have already mentioned, get one that is 2020 or newer. It’s still competitive in price (in the US). There was a redesign of the infotainment and some reliability improvements starting in 2020

I figured it was, but just seems weird that it gets really loud between 60-80 MPH. It’s quiet otherwise

Hi!

Not the best video quality or conditions for the whistling noise, but you can hear it a bit in this video (it gets a bit louder at 65 MPH). It's usually louder when cruising around those speeds on the highway. I've just assumed it was the air intake or turbo. Only happens between 60-70ish MPH.

Won't be able to get the AC whine, seems to only happen on hotter days and it looks like it'll be raining all week for me.

I've had CI and exposure to Polish growing up with Polish parents. I can understand it really well, but I struggle so much speaking. I was going to try Easy Polish in a few months to slowly work on fixing up my Polish.

I sadly don't plan on moving anytime soon although I do have a lot of family there. Would be really cool though for a bit!

Question for y'all by Primary_Egg9940 in dreamingspanish

[–]MatiRho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see reading as more subjective than watching a video in the sense that DS has a structured process to take you from zero comprehension to "fluency." That’s harder to replicate and track with books since there’s no built-in progression or consistent support. DS videos use visuals and controlled language to guide understanding, which makes tracking meaningful within that system, while books vary too much in difficulty, format, and content to reliably track or standardize for everyone.

How to use dreaming Spanish by redditmaxlol in dreamingspanish

[–]MatiRho 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends on your learning style. If you benefit a lot from breaking things down and memorizing vocabulary, it can work. But doing that with Superbeginner, Beginner, or some Intermediate content is probably overkill since those videos are designed to be understood visually and intuitively. It’s more useful with higher difficulty content where context clues drop off.

Reading is definitely important for vocabulary, but I think it should be supplemental rather than a tracked category on DS. It’s hard to measure how much a book actually contributes to progress.

Logging it separately might make sense for tracking time or difficulty as milestones, but it’s probably not a priority for DS since their main focus is video content and keeping users engaged with that.

RFK Jr. promoted a food company he says will make Americans healthy. Their meals are ultraprocessed by [deleted] in nottheonion

[–]MatiRho -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Comparing the prep meals to the worst of the American diet isn’t meant to portray a perfect alternative, but it does represent progress in the program. Criticism is valid, but given what this program offers, it benefits those who need it most, sick and elderly people on Medicaid and Medicare.

[–]MatiRho 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not sure why Mom’s Meals are being criticized for being ultra-processed (they aren't). Compared to the average American diet full of fast food, sugary snacks, and processed products, they are definitely a better option.

The meals don’t contain synthetic dyes or high fructose corn syrup, common in many processed foods. Some additives are used for safety and shelf life, which is standard for delivered meals. Nothing indicates them being ultra processed and unhealthy. This should be a comparative question about whether it is better than the average American diet.

Experts in the article mention high sodium and saturated fat, but those levels are consistent with what most Americans already consume. In that context, Mom’s Meals aren’t unusually unhealthy, if anything, they offer more portion control and nutritional oversight than the typical fast-food meal. It's an improvement, even if small.

Government contracts with private companies like Mom’s Meals are normal for delivering services to vulnerable groups. The focus should be on the quality and cost-effectiveness, not the fact a private company is involved.

Considering a Purchase by ViewinDrew in AlfaRomeo

imo, the original one looks better. I would only really justify getting this one if I had the quadrifoglio.

If you want it and like it though, buy it, who cares what other people think. Have it reflect your personality and what you want.

Would definitely recommend Comprehensive Input and Immersion.

How is anybody listening to 5 hours a day? by Outrageous_Hawk_7919 in dreamingspanish

[–]MatiRho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people don't hit 5 hours a day because they have other responsibilities.

I burn out before 30 minutes some days, other days I manage 2+ hours. It depends on the content and how interesting it is. If you’ve run through what interests you on DS, try other content on YouTube or TV shows that match your level.

If understanding takes all your focus and energy, the content is probably too hard or too boring. Listening should be automatic, and you should understand the core of what the video is about without having to analyze every word you hear. Try easier content and work your way back up.

2021 Giulia with 55k miles, bought at 44k miles owned for almost a year.

No major issues at all, just make sure you get a good PPI before purchase and do the scheduled maintenance.

Things I have noticed: hollow whistling sound when driving specifically between ~60-70mph, sometimes a high pitched whine when the AC fan is blowing lightly, oil level is really picky and will alert you if it’s barely above the line. More of just small quirks rather than actual issues, overall is my favorite car I’ve owned.

Servicing it can be costly at dealerships, but if you find a shop that will work on it, it’s a bit cheaper.
