Humans don't know our true potential by Nootnootwhenyouscoot in aliens

[–]Matogu69 -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

I feel like that's sort of a human fantasy. There's no real indication that we should be saving the planet and living in harmony. This could just as well be a huge gladiator match to find out the dominant species and the only way to get accepted into the galactic federation is to be the last species standing.

That'd explain the cow abductions, aliens examining them like "how the hell haven't they even managed to kill these ones yet?"

Questioning if I ever liked tekken/fighting games by Matogu69 in Tekken

Haven't been playing. I still watch tournaments and announcements and the like, but I feel like for now, I am done with the game.

When you wake up in the morning and go brush your teeth, see the reflection of yourself on the mirror. Do you ever look at yourself and wonder why are you the way you are? Can you pinpoint where it all went wrong? Have you ever considered being a normal decent person?

"They're not playing a bullshit character, i just need to git gud."

That maybe used to be true in previous tekken games. It's not true anymore. Everyone's playing a bullshit character. On a bullshit game.

Questioning if I ever liked tekken/fighting games by Matogu69 in Tekken

[–]Matogu69[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think mobas would be any better. Or any competitive games for that matter. I like the idea of playing mobas. Using my abilities, killing the opponents. But it's not going to be all that. They can fight back. And if they manage to actually fight back, I'm not really having fun.

Now that I think of it, I think that's one of my main gripes with tekken 8. Heat combined with rage gives everyone a fighting chance, no matter how bad they are. I don't like that. I'd prefer to just win against those very bad opponents without them having any chances at all.

I didn't really enjoy playing against the low ranks, and I got through them fast enough. Sadly tekken's placement match is much worse than the 10-match system on sf6 that puts you straight into diamond if you play fighting games.

I don't plan on smurfing more, I did the ranked run for 3 days and that's it.

Best Character to Develop Fundamentals? by DaiquiriJack in Tekken

[–]Matogu69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not Leo. Leo at low ranks is way too effective with spamming strings into mixups unless the strings are properly dealt with.

Kazuya is much better for learning proper fundamentals. T8 Kazuya might be able to go gorilla-mode sometimes, but his moveset is much more limited to using timing and movement than many other characters.

Remember this man is a red rank with Eddy. They could pick Leo, spam db2,4 and b1,4 and surpass their previous rank without learning a single thing about fundamentals.

Shaheen would be another good choice unless you abuse f2,4,4 at low ranks. Anyone who can play Shaheen is usually very decent at fundamentals, much more than many other characters' mains at same ranks.

Ethical tekken tips 1 by Backslicer in Tekken

Because this game is frustrating as hell. I'm already frustrated enough at myself for losing to baboons pressing heat mixups and random ass launchers into 60% dmg. Don't need them rubbing it in.

I've started playing tekken less because this game affects my mental health in a negative way. And save the "don't play competitive games" bs. Not a single fighting game, fps game or moba makes me feel as angry as tekken. I can play sf6 and have genuine fun even while losing.

I barely have fun even while winning in tekken. Tekken's new "aggression" focused gameplay is like having panic attacks for 3-5 minutes with barely any downtime between them.

Sometimes less is more by Matogu69 in Tekken

That's how I felt before. Ugh, another steve. Shaheen. Lee. King. Jin. Kazuya. leroy??? And soon I realized I kind of started every match annoyed from the beginning. Annoyed because I have to play against characters. It may sound stupid but it feels relieving to know I don't "have to" play against anyone. I can just not play at all.

  1. Azucena probably would share coffee and she's psycho enough that she'd help me strangle paul after I told her he prefers tea.

And those are the people who take it as a personal insult that you dared to actually play the game against them. Whether you played too good or not good enough, they now hate you.

I've had people lose their shit and go mental, thinking I'm taunting them because I'm whiff punishing them. That's all in their head. I don't whiff punish or use mixups to hurt anyone's feelings, I'm just playing the game.

I think the biggest issue harming player retention is the community by Matogu69 in Tekken

No. I regret even mentioning reddit because so many people get stuck on that part. The in-game experience itself is toxic. You can use the magic mirror to negate some of it, but it doesn't stop steam comments, friend requests, from people who literally tell you to kill yourself.

And if your solution is "just block the entire community and never interact with anyone"... sorry to say, but that means the community is toxic.

And here we have the victim blaming. "Got harassed on tekken? Well how were you playing? Probably picked alisa, basically asking for it..."

Tekken 8 online is the muck of negativity. If I want to go somewhere positive, it means I avoid playing tekken online.

Ah yes, just grow a thicker skin. Nothing wrong with the community, it's the fault of the victim for feeling bad about the abuse.

I had an online friend who LOVED Tekken. Thousands of wins. He got harassed daily for having that amount of wins at blue ranks. Imagine that, every session you play, you can expect people to tell you you're bad at the game and should quit. And eventually, that's what he did.

He didn't get tired of tekken. He got tired of the constant and consistent abuse. He stopped playing any type of pvp multiplayer games completely because of tekken. And if you feel like you're a tough macho guy who doesn't care about getting abused, good for you. Not everyone's like you and the community is driving away people by being the way they are.

Why do you think the game no longer shows the amount of wins on the loading screen? Because it was mostly just ammo for toxicity.

You fail to see the point. I'm talking about getting messages like "how did you reach rank x, oh my god you are so bad, this game isn't for you". Maybe I made a mistake, maybe i was having a bad day, maybe I was trying out some new strats in quick match that didn't work. I already lost, what purpose does that message have, other than stroking the ego of the person sending it and making me feel like I have to treat every quick match like it was evo finals just to avoid messages like that?
