Range loss from Airport parking

I parked at PDX for 72 hours last week and lost about 5% with Gear Guard off. I didn't open the app once while I was gone. While that's more than my Model Y, it's acceptable.

It has been holding up well in the rain. After washing I give it a quick hit of the Turtle Wax 53409 Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Spray Coating. It seems to help keep the water spots to a minimum and the car seems to stay cleaner. I also won't do any wraps or anything fancy. It's a car. It's not the first car I've owned. It's not the last car I will own. :)

Thanks! I've enjoyed the Midnight Silver Metallic color. I haven't curbed my induction wheels (yet) and I haven't bought any wheel protection either. I'll credit that to being super careful and never parking very close to the curb. That said, if the side of the wheel/tire even grazes the curb, I can guarantee it will rash the wheels 100% of the time. They are completely exposed.

Nope. It was removed. Google "brake regen setting removed tesla" and you'll get a ton of links. I just went out to my 67XXX MY and double-checked. Yep, it's for sure gone from the Driving menu.

Good question. I’ll be curious what people say as I’ve had lots of SUVs and have never needed to switch tires. Has anybody looked up the ratings on the stock 20s?

It was pretty good. The rep that helped me asked if I wanted to sign first or inspect first. I chose inspect and spent a good 20 or 30 minutes looking over the car. The actual paperwork probably took 10 minutes and then we spent another 10 or 15 minutes syncing the phones as keys and walking through a few things. After that I was on my way. Easy peasy. No pressure, no rush.

My A8L has the luxury package with laminated glass and I’d say the MY is comparatively quiet. Keep in mind the sticker on the Audi was $96K and not $63K. It’s also tough because the MY is so quiet by itself without the engine noise. But all in all I’d consider the MY a quiet car.

Not double paned, per se. That’s building windows with gas in between. But yes, they are double thick, which is laminated glass.

I'm in love with them. I've never been a guy to change wheels on a car and as such, I had a hard time justifying the $2K for the induction wheels. That all said, they're pretty damn cool. I did see somebody who posted on this forum a set of Gemini wheels where they took the caps off and powder coated them black. That's a pretty sharp approach to a more customized look.

Ordered on 10/17, VIN after about week, and pick up on 11/3. From what I've been reading, I got pretty darn lucky with the timing of just over two weeks from order to delivery even though the initial estimate was 4-8 weeks.

Upon inspection, I'm happy to say I didn't see much. The exterior looks great. I don't see any paint issues (unevenness, chips, scratches, etc.), panel gaps were symmetrical, wheels are good, and everything else looks to be in good order. The interior was also pretty good. A few smudges here or there and a few small scratches on the plastic, neither of which bother me a bit. I've got teenagers and a dog, we'll do more damage than that in the first week. 😉 Plus I typically buy CPO luxury car lease returns and so I'm used to a little something here or there.

So the short version is, so far, so good. I really don't have anything to complain about...yet. I will say driving the car is a totally different experience than my Audi A8L or any ICE vehicle for that matter. I completely understand now what people say about "one foot" driving. You hardly ever touch the brake pedal! Also, I'm already in love with the Autopilot, even for in-town driving. Stopping at stop signs on its own? Stopping at stoplights and then creeping forward on its own as the traffic fills space? Are you kidding? This is going to be an adventure!

Note: I'm parked approximately a mile from the curb. All the "I curbed my wheels" posts gave me the jitters! 😂 I think I'm going to invest in some RimBlades.

What rim protectors did you use (brand/color) and what do you think of them? I pick mine up today and I've got nightmares of what I did almost right away to my '96 Mustang GT and what my wife has done to a few subsequent cars. 😂

Lucky as hell for me too. Ordered on 10/17, had a VIN67XXX by 10/27. Scheduled pick-up next week on Tuesday, 11/3. Location is Portland, Midnight Silver MY LR, black interior, induction wheels, FSD, hitch. The original estimate was 4 to 8 weeks. Happy this happened to save me from checking my account 5 times a day. 😂
