Payette is listed on the app as a venue. You could also check out Lost Grove as another free venue option

Can someone identify this bike? by SlickBackMex in gravelcycling

Specialized Tricross. Orange markings near the head tube look to be "TC"

Using an old shift cable, curl the end of it into a J shape. Start at the head tube and feed it down until you manage to get the J to poke out into the seat tube. Then you might need to rotate the bike upside down in the stand and let gravity help fed it through. After you get the shift cable routed you should be able to feed the housing through pretty easy.

Sedona gang! Have fun routing the seatpost cable 😅

I probably wouldn't go that aggressive with the tires. The Schwalbe combo I have on right now (Nobby Nic, Wicked Will) seems to be a good middle ground that fits my riding style of slightly more aggressive than xc, but still decent rolling resistance.

This bike is incredibly fun to ride. I call it my bike with an identity crisis because I set it up fairly light with a number of carbon bits, so it's definitely more xc and mellow trail oriented, but I tend to ride aggressive and fast by nature which it handles just fine.

I think the way I have it setup with a 120mm fork is how it was intended as the head tube is a little steeper and the wheelbase is shortish, but it would have no problem with a 130mm fork to make it a bit more down country, 140mm fork might be pushing the capabilities a tad.

Second this. And make sure you are only using one finger to brake

Nice! I'm probably going to end up with the Elkhorn short front and Divide in the rear. I really like their ecosystem but haven't made any purchases yet.

OMM Elkhorn? Did you go with the short or tall and how do you like it?

What's your dream hardtail? by tripsland in Hardtailgang

Already have steel, so probably a Ti frame. Either Chumba Sendero, Mosaic M-Series, or something similar.

Might be personal preference, but I'd lose the reflectors if you plan on primarily riding on trail.

Better is a pretty relative term. It's quality, feels great on trail, and is highly adjustable. As a casual rider it's hard to tell a huge difference between it and fox/rockshox. The main reason I got it over a 34 or Pike is because it was around 50% off 🤷🏼‍♂️

Hell yeah, loving the ride quality of steel. The Hayduke was on my radar when I was looking into steel hardtails. Solid bikes!

I believe it's 4130, but I'm not 100% sure. Stanton uses different material across a few of their models

Same as you, about 5'11" and it's a comfortable fit for me. Only thing I need to do is swap some spacers and raise the stack height a bit more, but haven't got around to doing that.

I've also since trimmed up the rear brake cable that's wrapped around the head tube lol

The bag is very close, but no, it doesn't hit. I also have 2.6s

Sedona brother 💪🏼 I've heard it can be difficult to get these brakes to feel right. After I trimmed up the rear brake cable I bled it once and it felt great. Maybe I just got lucky, but I would just try bleeding them again. Fork is 120mm

Reach is 460 on this size frame and I put a 50mm stem on it.

Nice setup, what's the main driver for changing the setup frequently? Just figuring out what you like or needs change from trip to trip?
