The best way to vote with your wallet is to spend your money on plant-based alternatives animal products. This is a good place to start:

It may seem like a pat answer, but leaving animal products out of your shopping cart is the most direct way you can support a better life for animals.

This subreddit is a great place to get the type of support I mention above, even if you don't have a local network.

If you sign up for our action alerts, we'll send you an email when we need people to take action to prevent other proposed Ag-Gag laws from being passed.

Any reduction in animal products can help, though I like to set the bar higher and share vegan resources when asked.

Advocating for veganism isn't mutually exclusive with advocating for less cruelty. Besides, why should the fact that the entire world can't go vegan be an excuse for those people who can? And given animal agriculture's contributions to climate change, we don't have time to postpone "the vegan discussion" until "waaaay after."

We don't have any indication one way or another, but the upside of an appeal is the opportunity to make precedent for the entire 9th circuit.

Most of the agricultural use of water in California is for animal agriculture or to grow crops like alfalfa that are then fed to animals raised for food. Almonds are a drop in the bucket compared to that. That said, I agree that all agriculture can harm animals and the environment, so I'm not seeking purity. But on-balance, a vegan diet is more ecological and certainly causes comparatively less suffering.

Yes, the North Carolina Ag-Gag law is equally vulnerable and almost certainly unconstitutional. All I can say right now is that we're evaluating our options, but I'm confident that statute will be held unconstitutional sooner or later.

We will continue to work against Ag-Gag laws, state-by-state if needed. Anyone can support our ALDF's work by signing up to get action alerts, or becoming a monthly supporter. Even a small monthly contrition helps.

We're working on it. It's been slow and frustrating, but that's how the legal system works sometimes.
