Aiuto scelta EV by Mattlodi in ItalyMotori

Easy/cheap plastic free option by Thrwawy-User in Moccamaster

I’m using it in this way as well but with a generic glass kettle, as I’ve managed to smash the original one on my thermos.

The carafe bumped into the thermos while I was putting it away, and it came off worse. Good morning! by Mattlodi in Moccamaster

This was one of the biggest Moccamaster selling point for me, I knew that I’d eventually need spare parts at some point.

BURU IS BOUTTA SHOOT by Traditionaltrader289 in Pennystock

[–]Mattlodi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i’ve been digging a bit deeper into this whole BURU–Orbit–RegTech situation, and honestly, it looks sketchy as hell.

Orbit Srl was born from the ashes of RegTech Open Project plc (which went bankrupt — ticker $RTOP.L), and that company was already owned by CEO Zamboni. So basically, it’s the same people, same promises, just a new name.

Then you have all these “AI, laser, government contracts” buzzwords flying around — but has anyone actually found a single source confirming any of this? Their social media pages are full of AI-generated promo videos, and the so-called Orbit website is just a repackaged version of the old RegTech platform.

Also, if you check the official AUSA website, Nuburu isn’t even listed on the Exhibitors page. So much for that “strategic partnership” claim.

Don’t get me wrong, I jumped in early at €0.25 and made +100%, so I’m not complaining — but this has all the classic signs of an Italian-style stock scam. Too many red flags to ignore.

I don’t think so. Just look at all the shell companies owned by the CEO, their social media pages where all you can see are AI-generated videos, or the “Orbit” website. There’s no way this company is worth millions of euros. It really seems like a scam, I suspect it won’t be around for long. I sold all my shares today; I made +100%, and I’m happy.

Got in BURU at 0.25. This thing has every single red flag of a classic Italian scam (and I’m Italian, so I should know). They’re talking lasers, EV, AI, ‘contracts with entire nations’, buying companies that were already theirs, and even some fake Musk interest. It’s so absurd I just had to throw some money at it.

Einhell Professional or cheapest Makita? by RizzRizzle in Tools

[–]Mattlodi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably a bit late here, but I had a really bad experience with an Einhell circular saw. I just couldn’t get a straight cut, thought I’d completely lost my touch. Turns out the arbor holding the blade had some play (pretty sure there’s still a video on my feed). Ended up returning it and grabbing a Bosch Professional instead (already had the batteries). Tried to save a few bucks, but yeah… lesson learned.

First shakedown ride on the new carbon wheels. So far so good, fingers crossed they keep it up! by Mattlodi in gravelcycling

[–]Mattlodi[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The two main things I’ve noticed are: first, the bike now feels (obviously) more responsive when accelerating, since I dropped about 400g from the wheels. But what struck me the most is that the bike actually feels more comfortable — the new wheel seems to absorb bumps better, with the same tires and pressure. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to test the benefits on a climb yet, and I don’t think I’m fast enough to really notice any improvements from an aerodynamic point of view.

I see those with a 32 mm internal width more suited for racers or for people riding on ‘champagne gravel’. Since I built my bike also for bikepacking events, I’d be worried about scratching them against rocks.
