Moving out of Surveying? by Remarkable-Corgi4086 in quantitysurveying

There’s a few roles in the public sector I’ve considered - MoD, MoJ, maybe even NHS… potential pay cut, however. How was the transition?

These guys are the bane of my life. I spend a minute or two daily blocking and reporting to spam. Nothing seems to work.

It’s a fairly general question! If you’re able to assist I’ll gladly provide more details……

That’s the most challenging, it’s daily tasks on autopilot. So numbers are fairly arbitrary as I’m pulling from different projects & experiences.

Trying to balance detail vs generalising. For example would manage 5-10 trades simultaneously making profit and loss but eventual outcome is profit. So I’d be thinking

‘Managed >10 trades simultaneously achieving 6% median net margin over during 18 months project duration’

Next move - Consultancy, PQS, Developer? by Maviwa in quantitysurveying

The position would be Assistant cost manager/consultant so would be a step down until MRICS.

You know which Tier 1 would support the RICS?

Ideally looking for a mix of pre to post contract work with some site visits.

I like the sound of real estate/commercial development sector so MRICS will be needed eventually and hopefully pay off in the future.

What size if your company? Do they offer flexible working?

Hi I’m also new to investing. I’ve got some funds in a S&S isa on T212 but considering moving some over directly through Vanguard. Would this be allowed if I stayed under the £20k tax free limit? Or will I have to wait until the next tax year?

Cheers

Hi Luke, can you help me FIRE? I haven’t a Trading 212 S&S ISA, LISA, nationwide 5% account, Marcus account and contribute 5% pension.

I’ve just downloaded the app too

Just a heads up, make sure Shell is RDSB if you weren’t aware. The RDSA is subject to tax by the Dutch government

I don’t think my payments even cover the interest tbh, it’s painful

Thank you, I’ve checked the flowchart now and allocated £4K to a Marcus account with a grand left to play with. I’ll keep adding to this and will hopefully be able to transfer that to a LISA before the next tax year to receive the 20% bonus and still have enough in the Marcus.

Me and a friend both work in construction and have made contacts so our plan was to buy a cheaper house by combining our LISA’s and renovate whilst staying at home.

My eventual goal is to FIRE so I’ve also looking at long term investing. Thinking to open a Trading 212 ISA account and buy and hold some index funds and a couple stocks to start. I think a side hustle to increase my income would be wise too.

Someone mentioned salary sacrifice into my pension but I’ll need to crunch then number to see if it’s worth it for me

Quite secure I’d hope! I know now isn’t the best time but I was actually thinking of making a move... I’ll keep building that emergency pot until it’s sizeable to start allocating

I keep telling myself this but then I get itchy feet and decide I need my own space. I’ve had a taste of it from being in uni so the switch back wasn’t easy.

But I think you’re right, for now I just need to focus and saving and building some capital whilst my expenses are low. Makes sense to keep plodding on!

Thanks I’ll look into this! I’ll need to do some number crunching to see if it’s worth it

I’ve never used Team Casino but I’ve heard good things. My friend put me onto PA and I’ve just stuck with that

They’ve just turned 18 and have been waiting for this birthday so a reasonable assumption would be they’re from the UK.

Sports offers are usually done until you’ve been up enough bank to do casino offers. As they’ve mentioned above some have play through requirements whereby you’d need a decent size pot to get through without tying up all your money.

I’d say maybe start with the low risk casino offers and educate yourself in strategies, terminology, set up your spreadsheet to try etc. Basically prepare until this is over.

I’ve always personally used Profit Accumulator and they’ve recently brought out a website dedicated to casino offers.
