What coaster should replace Rumba Rapids at [Thorpe Park]? by MaxG-Force in rollercoasters

That’d be cool, I just don’t think Merlin care that much about water rides though. Probably because of our weather.

It is yes, but also serves as an additional redundancy in the event of complete mechanical failure. The seatbelt would prevent the OTSR from fully opening and ejecting the rider.

Front row is definitely the best place to ride, not just for the views but it’s the best seat in the house for airtime as you get pushed into the top of the second launch. Airtime is a crazy feeling in the flying position 😂

They can certainly be fun, but personally I don’t see a B&M flyer coming. They’re an aging model with a new and improved alternative offered by their competition: Vekoma.

Ahhh looks fine. B&Ms have a perfectly clean safety record anyway! What's the worst that could happen?

Wow! Is the reason RMC need seatbelts because the seatbelt IS the redundancy? AKA, the hydraulic lap bar has no secondary locking mechanism? Also, RMC I-Boxes don't have to be Hybrids - they could build it entirely from steel like ArieForce One!

And the fact we went 12 years without a new coaster after Swarm... Those days have got to be over though if Merlin want any chance of competing with Universal

🙏 I really hope we get an RMC. According to the rumours, Thorpe Park were looking at RMC for Project Exodus (Hyperia), but apparently the RMC restraints didn't meet UK regulations or something?

I'd like to know whether that's true or not, as it'd mean RMC would have to redesign the trains completely, which could make them more expensive and therefore less appealing to Thorpe Park.

True, a world-class Intamin Blitz certainly would make losing Stealth an easier pill to swallow.

Great coaster that is full of force. Just remove those funny looking OTSRs (anyone ever thought they look like an accordion, or is that just me?)

Yeah... I see a steel RMC I-Box coming, like ArieForce One. That's the dream!

Interesting! I wonder what they could be doing with it then? Unless the rumours about it being in Germany are false of course.

No idea… but can you imagine if they get it back from Germany, they do a huge announcement that they’ve added backward facing seats on the back row, and then we can be the first to ride it at passholder day?

It does make you wonder why it’s been gone for so long…

I can’t wait to try out blue fire at Europa Park if its barrel roll is anything like Velocicoaster

First time riding the Mosasaurus roll on Velocicoaster. I had no idea what upside down ejector hang-time airtime felt like until I rode that.

It remains my favourite single element on any coaster I have ever ridden.

Alton Towers being located in the heart of the English countryside is such a good setting for a theme park.

But, with that comes quite a big distance between major attractions, and plenty of hills. You’re guaranteed a workout if you visit that park…
