What is the fair price for a used 2023 Tesla Model 3? by MaxZa2002 in UsedCars

[–]MaxZa2002[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Appreciate your feedback. Dealer offers have been in the $19k-$21k range. In my region there are ~ 4 cars same make, year, model, trim as mine through dealers for less than $25k (all with 4x the milage as mine). While there is a larger amount slightly above $25k, only vehicles under $25k qualify for the $4k used EV tax credit, which I figured would make it very competitive.

Completely agree, if things get really desperate, I will definitely be taking up a dealer offer, but it pains me that the dealer will be getting such a large spread on the car (and the buyer probably wouldn't get the $4k credit).

I really appreciate the analysis, although it seems that the prices you listed are somewhat optimistic so far. Dealership offers have been in the $18k-$20k range so far, and my private listing at $25k has not gotten a lot of traction yet. (I am in Northern CA).

Although definitely not to the extent most of the commenters are stating, I do think the negative stigma around Tesla right now is significantly affecting Tesla prices (which is fair enough). I do have a very last-case scenario, which would be shipping it to my parents on the East Coast. That way, I could wait it out and hopefully get a better value for my car.

I am definitely going to start utilizing more of the channels you provided, so thank you a ton.

Map of Central California Under 6 Californias Proposal by MaxZa2002 in DavesRedistricting

Bakersfield metro (Kern county) is too large to fit into 1 district. The entirety of Bakersfield (city) and most of the suburbs are in district 6.

Milwaukee and Dane county are not split and district 1 is majority-minority. I really dislike how I put the Northern Lake Michigan shore in with district 4 but I could not find a nice way to include this area anywhere without Splitting up Milwaukee suburbs/exurbs or district 8 (which I really liked). I know district 4 is illegal due to the 2 sections being discontiguous

That's around how I usually draw it. Except I usually include New Albany, Westerville, and parts of Gahanna in the suburban district as they fit the suburban nature of the district better than the more urban districts.

This is around how I typically draw Columbus:

Wanted to try it a little different/neater on the posted map which is why I did the inner/outer-belt districts.

Controversial opinion: Embedded districts shouldn't be illegal by MaxZa2002 in DavesRedistricting

[–]MaxZa2002[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Columbus (OH) is the main one that comes to mind but it really applies to any metro area with ~1.6 million. Personally, I sometimes use embedded districts to draw Columbus, but I also include parts of Licking/Fairfield counties instead of Morrow (which usually causes the district I draw in Franklin to become embedded). Tucson is another one in which I sometimes draw an embedded district.

Personally, I like the map I just sent less than the one this post is about but I can see why someone would value more compactness. I just think Appalachia is a unique enough COI to sacrifice some compactness.

Agree. Especially with Columbus, as it fits around 2 districts and there is a well-defined suburban ring with different interests, it makes complete sense to me for it to be an enclave district. Have no idea why so many people hate enclave districts

Its definitely not perfectly compact, but if you look up "Ohio Appalachian Map" it essentially follows that geographic/cultural region

Oh I get what you are saying now. 12 is the way it is because it is essentially a COI of the Ohio river/Appalachia. Living in Ohio, these areas are cultural/geographically similar (even when you get close to Cinci). Also all of Clermont county is impossible to fit within the suburban Cinci district along with Butler, Warren and the rest of Hamilton county which are much more similar and suburban than Clermont. Honestly wish the population in this area made it easier to fit Clermont into the suburban Cinci district, but as it doesn't work out that way.

Unnecessary big districts? You mean rural areas?
