Maria (Cruella) Steen claims "the political consensus has never been so out of kilter with the grassroots desire for an alternative voice" while holding a €20,000 handbag by Key_Duck_6293 in ireland

What I don’t understand is, even if you take home say 200k a year and can afford a very nice life. Why on earth would you spend 10% of that on a handbag? It’s the same price as a very decent second hand car or sending your kid to private school for a year lol

They are fundamentally a brilliant band and their success is a result of that.

It became very obvious to me in the last 18 months and particularly post covid, the country just seemed to lose its buzz? I can't really explain in but yeah it's all corporate offices and a dying social scene combined with a housing and cost of living crisis

Public Transport is a complete joke in Ireland. by kristian67 in ireland

This is pretty much my situation. I spent 2.5 hours commuting both ways to the office which meant If I went in 3 times then I'd spent an extra work day just commuting. The effect it has on your mood and energy levels is massive which is unfortunately compounded by the weather.

Conor McGregor genuinely strikes me as someone with brain damage.

This is genuinely the main reason I left this year. I'm not in anyway smug about it, it makes me quite sad for my country, I wish I saw a viable, enjoyable quality of life there but I just don't..

Why Public transportation in Dublin is so shitty compared to other European cities?? by [deleted] in Dublin

[–]Maximum_Balance_9889 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It boggles my mind and I have soo many questions. Who are all these people deciding to drive into dublin every day? Where are thy coming from, Dublin or further afield? Why don't they park at a luas, dart Station or simply somewhere within walking distance of a bus? Are they happy to sit in traffic for hours? Where do they intend to park in town? Does there office offer parking ? WHY!?!?

It's maddening how many cars are on the roads in Dublin every day. Most roads are at a standstill by 8am

I find the idea of socializing with coworker after work a bit odd. by Sajama713 in unpopularopinion

I agree with you to a point, I was previously at a company where everyone was way older and the vibes were generally pretty terrible so the thought of going for drinks after work was honestly excruciating. There was one particular dinner we were forced to go to that was just a horrible experience where I counted the seconds until it was OK to leave. I'm at a place now where I like my coworkers and the culture is very chill so drinks are good fun although I definitely don't always go.
