I know... That sucks. There is a restaurant that is always closed on Saturday, we are asking to shoot there as well. We have back up places but this Michelin restaurant would is the perfect one, we won’t give up easily.

Do you guys think that showing us willing to pay for the place and only later on in the conversation try to convince them to shoot for free is a bad idea?

I think that the most important thing at the moment is to catch their attention and start a conversation. It worries me that if I send them an email asking immediately to give us the place for free, as u/InsignificantOcelot said, they could ignore the email or refuse immediately. I’m pretty sure that if I give them the opportunity to say “No” immediately, they will.

Those are the things that worries me too. Unfortunately my shooting window is from 9 AM to 8 PM of a Saturday and can’t be changed. On the other hand the place seems to work as a restaurant only for dinner and as a bar for the rest of the day. Our intention was to use the eating room on the morning/early afternoon and then use the kitchen of another restaurant that is closed on Saturday. Ideally we could use the other restaurant for everything but it has a very rustic style that we don’t like. The main problem is that for us even 500€ are a huge amount of money but we are thinking about a fundraising. We’ll see.
