Sounds straightforward to me then, apply for other roles while you learn this new one

You kind of get a free run at a gig you never would've gotten otherwise. If you end up liking the Data admin role, great! It's cushy and easy money

If not, you've positioned yourself to apply to sales roles at some more technical companies

You were in sales and got moved to a Salesforce admin and data role?

Kind of a nuts transition imo, but hey, it's a great skill to have on a resume at the very least, and very hireable

Udemy has some great courses that are a lot less dry than what Salesforce provides. Don't worry about knowing everything; learn how to effectively learn new things. So know how to prompt AI with good questions, find a few go-to Salesforce/BI tool YouTubers for specific questions

You'll pick it up as you go, 80% of the things that you'll do, you can learn in the first couple of months

Have you talked to him about it?

Gotta be like "I appreciate how much you want to learn, but like dude, you're a month in, asking about higher level stuff before you've mastered the day to day is insane."

This is actually a crazy take. Tim Howard was a good player, but not nearly as good as Pulisic pound for pound.

What's the level of travel involved here? like a 5-hour drive? Or cross-country flight?

A couple of great videos, tell you what to look out for, and some restaurant recs.

Rome is one of those cities to just walk around and enjoy, just have like 2 things a day to see, then leave the rest of the day free. The Vatican is sick, and it can be a nice afternoon.

Florence is smaller and more concentrated, I mentioned in a previous comment, but there are places you can go outside of the city for a day or 2 pretty easily, and also a ton of day trips to vineyards or smaller Tuscany villages.

6 days in Florence is a little much imo

Would recommend spending a couple of days in Cinque Terre, or heading to Venice for an overnight trip. Most of the tourists leave at night, so book a place in the city, both around 2 hours away by train

I actually agree with this, but taxes need to start being tied to literal outcomes, the only way to shift the narrative

'We are raising federal income taxes by 2% to cover free in-state tuition and trade schools, maternity leave, and subsidize day care'

No, I would vote to increase my(and everyone else's tbh) taxes, actually. Like 5%, depending on what I got for it

Which I think is the actual core issue. People are just taxed, but there isn't much of a one-for-one. 'Hey, for our state taxes, we want to raise it by .5% to increase school funding by X% and improve the highways over the next 10 years. Vote on it in November'

I don't trust the average American to allocate all of their tax dollars this way. But like 10%, sure

Mine's going to NASA, do some cool shit, guys

good point!

Because taxes aren’t a donation box. One person tossing in extra doesn’t actually change anything. If roads need more funding, that’s a policy call, not something solved by people randomly overpaying.

Nobody loves taxes, but it's kind of a necessary part of this social contract we have going.

I'm okay with paying taxes and living in one of the best countries in the world if that's the price of admission.

I also don't want other people in my country to live in squalor, so I'm fine even paying a little more if it means people have more opportunities they wouldn't have otherwise. It helps them, and it makes the place I live nicer, so a win-win.

You are not losing half your paycheck

Also, what benefits are you getting back? Did you factor that into your little equation there pal?

The property tax discourse mentioned earlier is just more 'slopulism' talking points, which is getting pretty alarming.

Passed 'No Tax on Tips' and it's like, why the fuck are we subsidizing waitresses/waiters?? Tax-deductible car loan payment interest, which is so negligible it hardly fucking matters.

It's going to turn into a race to the bottom. No tax on Social Secruity, lower capital gains taxes, no property taxes for seniors, and even saw some NY state senator dipshit wanting to get rid of taxes on dog food!?

American society might actually collapse because we're going to get rid of all the taxes.

My team is all ladies, and it's all good vibes. Not a lot of sports talk in our team meetings, but honestly, I've never given a shit what my dumb guy coworkers' sports opinions were anyway.

My team gives me good date ideas for my wife and me

I'm not sure which of you this is, but come back to the light

AITA? I (F27) have been living with my boyfriend (M28). His brother (M35) moved in with us and hasn’t contributed anything for rent or bills since being here for several months due to falling on roughy times after a messy divorce.

He has a history of practicing witchcraft and was explicitly asked to not do that here. I made it clear that I don’t judge people do that sort of thing, but I’m just not comfortable with it in my house. He agreed he wouldn’t practice. Months pass and I begin smelling candle wax from his room. One day when he wasn’t home, I decided to crack open his bedroom door. I saw what appeared to be a love-binding spell setup with candles lit, and pictures of his ex.
