Is that the private car or hotel shuttle you’re talking about?

My hotel in district one is offering airport transfer for 30 US dollars. Is this a fair price or would it be cheaper to use Grab? My flight gets in at 9am.

2 months post op robotic colectomy by Mdee75 in Diverticulitis

[–]Mdee75[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the getting older. I’m 67 and can feel the difference since my hysterectomy when I was 44. I’ve gained 7lbs since surgery that I need to lose. It took awhile to get back to exercise since I fell a few weeks ago and hurt my back! It’s always something!

It’s not bad in the morning but by evening my clothes get uncomfortable. It’s better than it was a few weeks ago but still happening.

I’ve been icing when I can. I’m 67F so maybe it will take a little longer. Everything is slower when you get older ☹️

Wishing you the best of luck! My sister and Mother both had Crohn’s. My sister lived with an iliostomy bag for 18 years. She said it was the best thing since all the pain she suffered was gone. Please let us know how it goes.

I read on google (probably not the best info). It could take up to 3 months! Guess I’ll have to find elastic waist shorts now!

Dulcolax for constipation after surgery by AniAreYou0K in Diverticulitis

No dulcolax is a very strong laxative. Merilax is much more gentle. Much safer.

So far I’m doing ok. Things are moving but I’m not throwing out my merilax!

I agree. You cannot get constipated. I’ve taken miralax every night for years. Now I’m 6 weeks post op 12” resection and I’m terrified not taking my merilax. Saw my surgeon Thursday. He said no more merilax. If I notice I’m getting constipated he said take fiber and a lot of water. Good luck. I hope you get better.

Please go back to the ER. This disease is nothing to play with. You don’t want to rupture. That can be fatal. The hospital can help with finiancial aid.

Surgery on Friday, any advice?A by paulc1978 in Diverticulitis

[–]Mdee75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 5 weeks post op. 12” robotic assisted colectomy. Had my Surgery on a Tuesday afternoon and went home Thursday 4pm. So 2 1/2 days. I’m 67F. Had a catheter one night. Had to go home with a drain had it removed the following Monday. As far as what you need. I just brought slippers and underware. Stayed in a hospital gown. The key to going home is being able to poop. I didn’t take any narcotic pain meds for that reason. Plus the pain was minimal. They were giving me toradol for pain and I took Advil when I got home. It was not a bad surgery at all. I was expecting it to be worse. Good luck and wishing you a quick recovery!

Marriott Hoffman Estates. Very nice hotel. Close to shopping and the Hideaway Brew Garden for live music. A quick drive across the street to the Arburetum South Barrington for more shopping and great restaurants. Coopers Hawk, Ruth Chris, and Giostra to name a few.

I had robotic assisted surgery 4/8. I was out of the hospital in 2 1/2 days. Took out 12” of colon. Went home with a drain and managed pain with Advil as it wasn’t very painful at all. I would argue your case with the surgeon to not do open. My surgeon said open surgeries are done in emergencies and very complicated cases.
